Episode 2916 The Greater Good | Finding Faith in Something Different

[00:00:00] Good morning and welcome to Morning Coach today. I am so glad you’re with us. As you know, my name’s J.B. Glossinger, and this is your personal evolution system, the place to get your day started right. Welcome, welcome, welcome, and we are off to a start in October. I hope you’re ready. It is going to be a great month. We’re going to talk a lot about spirituality. We’re going to talk about metaphysics. And, we’re going to talk about faith, and we’re going to talk about meditation and mindfulness. It’s just going to be a great month. I know this month is going to be life-changing for all of us. And I’m super pumped about it. And we’re going to get a little bit deep. We are. We’re going to get deep, and we’re going to go down the rabbit hole.

[00:02:50] So, understanding how to get a little bit deeper and mindful is, it’s life changing. It really is. The more mindful that you become, the better decisions you make, the more you can monitor your energy, the more you can monitor your peace. It really is a big change for you. OK?

[00:03:08] So, let’s get into this today about finding faith in something deeper and in the greater good. Let’s first of all talk about faith. Faith generally is related to religion. We talk about faith as like faith in God. Right? And the reason we talk about that is because God is not proven. There’s just no scientific evidence even though, you know, people who say they’ve come up with stuff. But why we say you have faith in God is because faith is belief in the unknown. It’s the unknown that you really don’t know what’s going to occur and or what it is, right? You don’t know for sure. There’s not much science behind it.

[00:03:46] And finding that faith in the greater good is hard sometimes because the left brain, if you’re intelligent, is saying, “You’re crazy. It’s not real.” But we’ve got to look at faith in a different perspective and realize that we do have massive faith, and we utilize it every single day, and you don’t even realize it. But if we can shift the faith to something that we really believe in to something deeper, it makes our life so much better. It really does. So, as the left brain starts to say, “No, you can’t believe because it’s not real,” or “It’s not true,” or “There’s no proof that it exists.” Let’s talk about manifesting money, for example, or manifesting a better relationship or having your business go a different direction. Right? Some of the different ideas. Your brain’s saying, “No, see, I told you so. It’s going to be the same way it happens again.” You know, we don’t know the outcome. So, our brain kind of gets in the way.

[00:04:39] But the truth is we have massive faith already in many things in life. If you think about this, every day we get into a car, almost every day. Right? I know I do. I drive every day, and we drive down the road, and here in Florida, there’s a lot of two-lane roads, and I’m sure where you are there are two-lane roads. And if you think about it, you’re passing people at 60 miles an hour. Think about the highway. I drive 75 miles an hour a lot of times on the highways down here. Right? So, you’re going 75 miles an hour, and you look to the right and left of you, and you have other people going 75 miles an hour. What does it take to be able to drive? It takes faith. It takes faith knowing that those people are going to stay in their lane, they’re not going to make a mistake, and they’re not going to hit you. Or how about coming at you, right? On a two-lane. You’re on a two-lane highway. Like back in Indiana, they were all over the place, and you’re going 65 mile an hour, and a truck’s coming 65 mile an hour, and you pass two feet apart. Think about the faith that it takes. And a lot of people, you don’t think about it because we take that for granted. We take it for granted. We, you know, it’s not going to come across and hit us. But that’s faith. That’s the belief in the unknown.  Because you don’t know for sure; it’s faith in the greater good.

[00:05:52] When we train tactics, with Sir, and I go train, as you know, with ex-Israeli IDF guys and we go through some of our deeper training, one of the things that we need to do when we have a threat situation is we have to have faith that the guy or gal who’s next to us in our formation or what we’re doing has the same training because if not, what happens is, if we lose faith, we put the whole team in jeopardy. So, I have to have faith that the person next to me, whoever it is, is going to do their job. So, if we’re facing two threats, I have to have faith that that person is going to take one out and I’m going to take the other. Right?

[00:06:35] So, that’s faith. We have it in all areas of our life. In my training, we do it. How about flying? Think about that. You have faith in the engineers and in the pilot that they’re going to get you from point A to point B safely. So, we have these elements of faith in our life every day. We just don’t bring attention to it.

[00:06:54] And what I want to do is start to bring attention to your faith in life, in living life, that life is going to work out whatever you’re going through. Whether you’re battling a health challenge or you’re, you know, going through some troubles at work or you’re trying to get the business straightened around, you need to have faith that things are going to work out for you.

[00:07:16] Now, on Thursday, I’m going to talk about “Pray with your feet moving.” It’s an, it’s, you know, I’m going to go over that, right, and discuss that, but we’ve also got to have the faith as we’re doing the prayer.

[00:07:29] So, when we have faith in something deeper, I personally believe the greater good is conspiring for me. I personally believe in God. That’s my faith. That was the word that I grew up with. You could use “universe” or “energy.” You could say the internal thing or your breath or whatever your belief is. But that’s my personal one. And with that, I know that when I wake up, I can slow it down. And even if I’m having a bad day and I’m having a bad experience and I need to go run and get that I am facing my inner demons, I still know that if I have faith in God and have faith in the greater good, that my life is going to turn out all right. It’s when I lose faith and I try to do everything myself and I get all stressed out and flustered and have anxiety, that’s when things don’t work. In fact, not only doesn’t work, I’m in the minutia and I’m moving so fast that I’m not even enjoying my life. All right?

[00:08:24] And so, my job here is to help you find faith in something deeper, to slow it down and recognize that you already have this massive abundant faith in your life. When you drive your car, when you get on an airplane, when you do training, all those things that you’re doing require faith. Now, I’m asking you to have a little bit of faith in life itself. Meaning that you’re going to be patient and allow things to happen when things don’t work exactly the way that you want them to. Slow down. We’ll be able to connect those dots a little bit later. You know, recognize the fact that no matter what you’re facing, we’re going to get through it. It’s going to work out. And you’re going to come out the other side. Maybe a little bit different, but you’re going to come out of it. Right? And we’re always, always learning and processing and becoming more.

[00:09:14] Personally, I couldn’t coach the people that I coach now. I coach CEOs from around the world, professional athletes. I coach a lot of different people. Now, I couldn’t do that five years ago. I had to become more as a person. I had a change, and I got to tell you, the M/M course, as you do Mindfulness and Meditation, you become more mindful. You are going to become a different person after the 11 weeks that we’re together. Even if you’re listening to this, you know, there’s case after case after case of people that come here every day, and they have changed, and they have become something more, a better version of themselves. And that’s what we do when we understand this process.

[00:09:52] So, don’t go into life with this idea that that it’s going to work exactly the way you want it to and you’re going to become this thing that you see in your mind. Have faith that you’re going to be the best version of yourself and the things that are coming into your life are helping you magnify the experience. OK? So, be patient. Understand it always works out. And also, understand time and how short really life is, that it’s just a blink.

[00:10:19] I, you know, I’m going to be, you know, as we come into 2018, 49. You know, I’m almost 50. It’s a blink. And the last 10 years have gone faster than any years of my life. so,  I’m realizing that it’s time now to slow it down and thus, meditation and mindfulness so that I can enjoy every drop, every morsel this life has to offer. And I’m not getting caught up in the negatives. I’m not going to get caught up in the mistakes. And, I’m not going to get caught up in the errors and the things that I’ve done that maybe weren’t the best. So, I’m going to do everything with the best intentions possible, and I’m going to learn from it, and I’m going to continue to move forward. But understand that tomorrow is not promised. And you have to enjoy the process, and you need to look deeper, and you need to search for that energy, that faith, to have things work.

[00:11:07] Now, I’ll give you an example of a current project we’re doing here at Morning Coach. We’re transcribing podcasts. We’re putting them up on the site and we’re blogging. Leah has been doing a great job with some new cool blogs. I’m blogging, putting stuff up there. German is working on the back end with one of his guys, and they’re trying to get those things straightened around. And on Friday, last Friday, we got an email from a really great top… Bruce Clay, who’s one of the top guys in the world. He actually is the guy that termed SEO. He started his company two years before Google started. But anyways, he sent me our report, and our report was horrendous, 22 pages long. We have so much work to do, and it’s one of those things where I have to evaluate “does it make sense.

[00:11:55] But because of what we’re trying to do in impact state, I have faith that all the work of transcribing, putting those blogs together, understanding how the site structure and framework is, and getting it going, that by next year this time, one year, we will see some results. So, most people are like, “Well, I’m gonna put a blog up and I’m going to podcast and I’m going to have this stuff happen tomorrow.” The truth is, it takes a lotta, lotta time. Right? And so, we’re focused on this project that we won’t see results for a year, and we still don’t even know if that will do anything. So, we have faith in that. It’s going to happen.

[00:12:33] So, that’s a practical application of faith. And then, you got to step back and recognize that when you’re not getting the results, you have to keep going. So, you have to have faith that things are going to work out. And the reason we’re doing it is doing it for the real reason. So, how do you do that? Well, part of the problem that we have in trying to figure out what we should stick with and what we shouldn’t is figuring, you know, understanding where our focus should be and that starts by searching inside.

[00:13:00] And that’s why M/M is so important. You have to be able to relax your mind and be mindful and recognize what you’re going to stick with and what you’re going to change. As an entrepreneur, OK, which is what we are here at Morning coach, we’re trying to grow this, but it’s always changing. The landscape changes so much every day that you’ve got to be moving, and you’ve got to do things differently, and you’ve got to be thinking, and you’ve got to, you know, keep going. And the only way that you can really handle the pressures of that and bringing it together is to relax the mind and jump into the experience and enjoy it. Just to enjoy the whole process of this thing called life.

[00:13:39] Now, another example that was, we had a girl stayed here with us from Columbia, one of Pilar’s friends, during the hurricane Irma. Remember when Irma was coming? And she had never been through a hurricane. And we sat down, and she was scared to death. She didn’t know. I mean, the news, you thought, you know, the house was going to blow over and we were all going to die. That’s what the news made you think. And we said, “Look, here’s the deal. Just, you’re going to go through this experience. It will be another thing in your life that you can say you went through that you experienced.” And she did. She experienced it. Change her whole mindset, and she went through it, and she experienced it. Good, bad, indifferent, all the emotions, all the feelings, and then, obviously, when we got through it, it wasn’t bad at all. You know, we didn’t even lose power. But she still had that experience, and the reframing of that was such such a big difference.

[00:14:27] Having that faith in the experience that you’re going to be OK. You know, Pilar is as always an angel in that sense. Whenever they start going crazy on the news and I get a little stressed out, which I do because I’m the one that wants to make sure everything’s OK and get the bottled water and have everything for everybody and, you know, shelter everybody, and she’s like, “Just have a little faith in God. You know, have a little faith in God that things are going to work out.” And it always does. So, it’s so important that we slow down, that we become more mindful, and that we we really dig into this faith that’s going to make a difference in your life. And I want you to feel that because it can change everything for you. If you have a little faith, everything can change. I mean, faith and patience are the really the keystone things.

[00:15:09] And we’re doing that together here, right? We’re going to be here for you. So, let’s get out there and have a great day. Let’s do it to it.
