About Jessica Morgan

Jessica Morgan is a Herbalist and Horticultural Therapist specializing in herbal education for wellness, Horticultural Therapy and therapeutic garden design.

She’s been a practicing self-taught herbalist since 1992, completing her first 3-year herbal certification at the East West School of Herbology under Dr. Michael Tierra, O.M.D and clinical herbalist/acupuncturist Lesley Tierra, L.Ac., AHG in 2006. Also during this time, she completed her Master Gardener certification, her AS in Environmental Horticulture and Crop Science, and worked as a botanical research biologist for the University of California Stanislaus to protect endangered California native plant species. Five years ago, she relocated to Colorado and has studied clinical herbalism at the North American Institute of Medical Herbalism in Boulder CO and healing diets at the School of Natural Medicine UK. 

Jessica has spent the last decade facilitating school gardens, public gardens and wellness facility gardens; teaching jr master gardener, offering classes on herbalism and medicinal horticulture through parks and rec and providing social horticulture throughout the community.

Jessica has recently completed HT certification at the Horticultural Therapy Institute in Denver, and is preparing to graduate with a B.S. in Horticultural Therapy in Spring 2017 from Colorado State University. Her continuing education and personal interests focus on strategic classes that include rehabilitation counseling, criminolgy, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Ayurveda, Indigenous Western Herbalism, herb farming and providing wellness through healing dietary practices and horticultural therapy.

Jessica is presently pursuing her interests in prison gardens, post release recidivism, drug rehabilitation and working with sexual assault victims and will be interning as horticultural therapist and Larimer County Community Corrections in Fort Collins. With her HT training, she wants to provide horticultural therapy and horticultural vocational skills, and serve as an integral link to the healing of these underserved populations. 

Jessica is founder and owner of Morgan Botanicals and the School of Creative Herbalism in Loveland, CO offering classes, workshops, eBooks, garden design and consultations, herbal apprenticeship and therapeutic horticulture sessions.
