Introducing G Organic product line from PepsiCo Inc. This G Organic line is available in Lemon, Strawberry, and Mixed Berry flavors. So far I’ve found the lemon flavor from a local retail store. On the label of the bottle, it stated USDA Certified Organic, Electrolyte Blend with Sea Salt, Carbohydrates from organic Cane Sugar and No added Color. Now, I know Gatorade dominates the sports drink market, but why organic? My instinct tells me that they want to broaden their appeal to those who prefer healthier options when comes to eating or drinking.
There’s a strong Lemon like aroma coming out from the bottle after you open it and the Lemon aroma smelled similar to those Lemon flavored drinks made from powders. The liquid looked as if it was just pure tap water from your faucet. As for the taste, the very first sip tasted just like the regular lemon-Lime flavored Gatorade, there wasn’t any difference between the two. However, after couple more sips, you could sense the Lemon flavor fades away pretty fast and slightly lighter than the regular Gatorade. After finishing half of the bottle, there wasn’t any heavy aftertaste compare to the regular Gatorade and the powder taste like feeling didn’t linger around too much in your mouth as well. Overall, this is the lighter version of the regular Lemon-Lime drink.
The ingredients for this G Organic Lemon include: water, Organic Sugar, Citric Acid, Organic Natural Flavor, Sea Salt, Sodium Citrate and Potassium Chloride.
