Korean women are famous across the world for their so called “glass-skin”. Glass Skin is impeccably even-toned, smooth and lustrous skin. It is well moisturized and looks almost transparent like a glass.

Everyone is talking about the 10-step routine that is popular among the skin-centric women of Seoul. It’s all about achieving healthy radiance from within, and while it may take a little longer, the results are worth it in the long run. These are the key skincare steps for achieving glass skin:
1. CLEANSING
Korean women typically use two cleansers, starting with an oil-based cleanser to remove oil-based makeup, SPF and other impurities (since water repels oil). This allows for effortless cleansing rather than tugging at your skin to remove that last bit of mascara. Following with a water- based cleanser removes any remaining residue and leaves skin supple. The key is to find a gentle formula that won’t strip or dry out your skin.
2.EXFLOIATION
Exfoliation not only rids your face and body of dead skin, it also helps with other skincare imperfections and improve the effectiveness of your regular skincare routine so you can benefit from healthy, glowing skin. It minimize blemished skin and breakouts, improves skin hydration and moisture levels, stimulate blood flow and for breaking up these pigmented cells and removing build-up of dry skin
- TONERS
The role of toners in the Korean skincare order is to prepare your skin to rehydrate your skin after using soap on your face, as well as restoring the pH balance of your skin.
- ESSENCE
The essence is really the heart of Korean skin care, a step that is credited to their culture. It’s a treatment product similar to serums, boosters, or ampoules; but it’s more watery in consistency then the rest of those products, so it comes out like a toner.
- SERUM AND AMPOLUES
These products are formulated with active ingredients that target specific needs by skin type, such as fine lines, loss of firmness, hyperpigmentation and dehydration.
- SHEET MASKS
Single-use sheet masks are formulated with the same active ingredients as serums, but are more of an “a la carte” version that you can use as necessary. A good arsenal of sheet masks enables you to customize your routine depending on how your skin is feeling
- MOISTURISER
A moisturizer designed for your skin type creates a barrier that will lock in all the beneficial ingredients you’ve just applied, instead of letting them evaporate out of your skin.
- EYE CREAMS
The skin around your eyes is thinner and more easily dehydrated, so it should be treated with a cream specifically formulated to protect, nourish, brighten or de-puff.
- SUNSCREEN
Did you know the number-one cause of premature aging of the face is ultraviolet exposure? By wearing sunscreen, you are slowing down the development of wrinkles and leathery skin. In addition to slowing aging of the skin, sunscreen prevents facial brown spots and skin discolorations. Even if you don’t burn easily, wearing sunscreen is still important. Sunburn is an immediate reaction, but sun damage occurs over a lifetime. Although skin cancer is more prevalent in people with lighter skin, it does not discriminate and can still affect those with darker skin.
- SLEEPING MASKS
Typically formulated for overnight use, sleeping masks are meant to be massaged onto the skin, allowing time for your skin to be soothed and more intensely hydrated. Ingredients in sleeping masks are mild enough for your skin to tolerate overnight. Used as a final part of your night regimen, sleeping masks are formulated depending on your skin type and skin concern. Sleeping masks are used to seal in your facial serums, creams and oils. Those with dry skin would immensely benefit from ingredients like argan oil; lavender and ceramide that hydrate and help repair the skin’s barrier while keeping it smooth and plump.
“Invest in your skin. It is going to represent you for a very long time.”
