Stay Awake, Stay Alert Michelangelo, Florence Nightingale, Thomas Edison, Margaret Thatcher and Martha Stewart to name a few, only slept for up to four hours each night. Impressive stuff and it appears to have paid off as we know about their contributions to the advancement of our species. Edison was particularly critical of Sleep and stated publicly that it was a “waste of time”.
