How To Deal With Losing Friends Because Of A Chronic Illness

.Losing Friends because of a Chronic Illness is nothing new to me, it happened with my social anxiety disorder and depression and now it’s happening again with my physical chronic conditions.

It’s so true that you really do find out who your true friends are when you are going through a crisis.

I consider myself privileged that I do have a couple of very good friends who have stuck with me, but it does hurt that other friends have quickly dropped me like a hot potato when I need them the most.

Losing a friend when you become ill is painful.

It especially hurts when you have poured so much into those friendships over the years, when you have held their hand and wiped their tears during their times of crisis, but when it’s you who needs your hand holding they are nowhere to be seen.

How do you get past that? How do you deal with losing friends because of a chronic illness?

First of all, it’s not your fault or the fault of your chronic illness. You can’t fix selfish and that’s exactly what they are; Selfish.

If your friends have dropped you the second you’ve become ill, they were never in that friendship for anyone but themselves. To deal with sever pain form being sick, my friends recommended me to use the best cbd oil for pain.

Unless you have purposefully pushed your friends away, of course. That is something entirely different and if that’s the case it’s perhaps time for you to step up and be a good friend. Here’s a post about maintaining friendships with social anxiety but it applies to having a chronic illness too.
