How to Practice Gratitude

As you all know, practicing Gratitude is extremely important. Why?  When we focus on what we need to be more grateful for it makes us realised how blessed we are. It also keeps the mind positive all the time despite all the happenings around us.

Gratitude has the ability to bring a peace, calmness and happiness in your life, which also results in, appreciation, generosity and compassion.

Here are some of the essential ways to Practice Gratitude in your life:

Gratitude list

Write down the list of things that you have. Normally we are focussed on things we don’t have and are aspiring for. It keeps our attention away from the things to be thankful for. Simple things like being alive, healthy, health of family, parents, a roof over your head, food to eat etc.. the list can be a long one. But do we realise how valuable these things are. Ask a blind, deaf, mute of physically challenged person and you would know how priceless these things are.

Remember it

Once you have written it down, stick it in places where you can see it regularly. The more times you see it and read it the more it becomes part of your daily understanding.

Mirror Work

Use the mirror in your house to acknowledge to yourself of things you have and say thank you. Do this as many times as you can. Looking into ones eyes is talking to your subconscious.


Once you have the knowledge and awareness by Practice it is time to give back to the universe. Do some work or service which helps other people. Help and uplift poor and mentally challenged people. As a person who has been blessed with so much giving and helping is a sign of deep acknowledgment and gratitude.


At the end of the day it is the value we see in our lives that gives us happiness, confidence and peace which is what everyone of us is striving for.  All the above points are only to know recognizing the value we have and enhance it by our actions in giving back to the world.
