What to do when I am feeling lonely?

These days many people at various ages are feeling Lonely and depressed despite being very busy with work. There is a dearth of genuine relationships and nobody seems to have time for anyone else.  The virtual world has further distanced people from one another. The advent of technology and the modern world has significantly destroyed the social fabric that existed for hundreds of years.

Given that we cannot escape from this world what should we do? Here are a few tips to overcome Loneliness.

Go on a vacation

Prefer a break and skip some daily routine activities. Get started with a plan take that adventure you have been dreaming of for a really long time.  When you pull yourself out from your routine life gets better. You don’t rush up your timings. You need to slow down and re-continue your journey sometimes. Whether you’re living the life that makes you happy or the life that everyone expects you to live you need to identify it by yourself.

Seek relief from a non-human “friend.”

There are lots of possibilities to remove your loneliness  by the way of take caring a pet, reading of your favorite book or a watch TV shows, or even just sitting outside for a while. We can find many ways in many things that ease the pain of loneliness. This will helps you and make feel better.

Connect with a human friend if you can

Think of some of your friends who are always supportive to you or who simply makes you laugh and give that person a call or send them an email. Make more conversations with them and try to spend quality time with them. This not only keeps you happy for the moment but also the constant memories of time spent also keeps you going.

Do something creative, no matter how simple.

Creative work always takes away loneliness. This is something that many people have done. Try a sketch, paint something, make a collage of your photos, or experiment with needlework of some kind and even cleaning your home can give you that feeling of contentedness.

Know The Difference Between Loneliness and Isolation

Loneliness is to be considered as an emotion, because it recollects your sad memory. Unfortunately the brain loves to over-analyse things, so loneliness even can escalate to longer spells because of thoughts that comes from our feelings. Isolation is what we feel and get into after sometime if we keep feeding this thought.

Look Through Old photos

Checking out the old photos can bring back very beautiful memories. Remember those good olden days with your friend, your mom or sister. Remembering your crazy things that happened your childhood. It is good recollect to your memory power. and this will drive away your loneliness.

Read Fiction

When you feel lonely feeling stop reading of these Dummies book. Instead of select and read a good novel. Reading a book of fiction which absorbs you such an extent that it becomes unpardonable. Identifying a powerful character in the story this will boost your confidence level and fill you with a sense of adventure.

Remind yourself that life is not always fun, and that tomorrow is a new day.

Knowing that unpleasant moments in your life can’t be changed sometimes reminds you to face it because life isn’t always fun. If you can be patient with your loneliness, it’s likely that by tomorrow, it will have eased a bit. Then, the next day, it’s likely to have eased even more. All emotions are impermanent. They just come and go with varying duration. Accepting it takes away the stress associated with loneliness.


When you are singing you actually leave your lonely world because singing has such great power that is takes you on a different plane and definitely takes away the loneliness and it works. Sing solo or let your favorite singer keep you company as you sing together.

Watch A Movie

Watch a chick-flick, or a super hero movie anything but a tear jerker, really and grab lots of candy and popcorn you will be attracted by the character soon. At the time eating the pop corns and candy that to be shared with your friends gives more interesting feelings and surely there is no word to say about loneliness.

Feeling lonely and depressed state of mind also depends on the your body and mental Health condition. So follow proper diet to keep your health in good condition. If you have any issues related to health consult a health coach get a proper diet chart. Hope you are able to follow and implement some of them and feel more connected and less lonely and over a period of time the word loneliness will not exist in your dictionary.
