It has been more than a month since the Afghan Taliban arrived in Kabul,. During which they announced an interim government, but no country in the world has recognized their government. The Taliban are now vying for a seat at the United Nations. The Taliban has written a letter to the United Nations asking it to address the annual session of the UN General Assembly in New York. The militant group insists it meets all international requirements for recognition of its government. But the United Nations has effectively responded to the Taliban’s request, saying it is not possible to do so soon.
