U.S. CDC, ease advisory on India, warns against travel to Turkey

The U.S. State Department and U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) alerted on Monday against transmitting to Turkey because of the increased number of COVID-19 cases in that country but relaxed its advisories for India.

The CDC included Turkey to its “Level 4: Very High” coronavirus level, while the State Department announced its parallel: “Level 4: Do Not Travel” warning.

The CDC reduced India to “Level 2: Moderate,” while the State Department eased its India category to “Level 2: Exercise Increased Caution.”

U.S. President Joe Biden imposed new travel restraints on April 30 on India considering COVID-19, restricting most non-U.S. citizens from arriving in the United States who had been in India within the last14 days.

There are no U.S. travel restraints for passengers from Turkey.
