If you would like a personal diet plan you can hire me here.

What is the Keto Diet?

The keto diet is when you eat very few carbs. The body usually uses carbs (carbohydrates) for energy and when you eat so few carbs (no more than 10% of your food intake) your body will go into ketosis which means it will use fat for fuel and not carbs.

On the keto diet your diet consists of 60-75% of fat and 15-30% of protein while your carb intake goes as low as 5%.

You can find out more about the differences in macronutrient (fat, protein, carbs) ratios for diets here.

The Benefits of Ketosis

Benefits include:

  • Because your body uses fat for energy you start to slim down naturally.

  • More stable blood sugar levels.

  • More energy.

  • Fewer hunger pangs.

  • Overall your risk of disease drops from heart disease through to diabetes.

Keto Diet with Indian Food

Indians can do keto. But if you have these symptoms listed in the chart it is a sign that you are not doing it right. You can correct it using the suggested solutions.

Having said this, I still recommend doing the Low carb High-Fat diet to Indians and not the keto diet. In fact, keto coaches in India who are claiming to help you with the keto diet are not even sure that you are in ketosis because they do not have the precision meter. Urine strips are not a reliable way to confirm whether you are in ketosis or not.

You can get a blood ketone and glucose meter kit from Amazon at $59.99. It is not available to purchase in India unfortunately.

A simple way to improve your health and lose weight is by taking my Apple Cider Vinegar with helpful spices and lemon juice. You can also try my Detox Apple Cider Vinegar.

As you saw in the table, electrolyte imbalances are common on the keto diet. Check out this article to make sure that you recognize the signs and can restore the balance.

If you are doing keto, let us know how it’s going in the comments below.
