NASA has announced for all space fans to be on watch because Jupiter, the gas giant, will be seen with binoculars when the planet is near opposition. You will see a bright star shining in the horizon, but it’s not a star, it’s Jupiter. This month Jupiter and its Moons can be seen from Earth. June 10th will mark the annual event when Jupiter can be seen more clearly.

What is happening on Monday, June 10th is that Jupiter will reach opposition. That means Earth will be directly between Jupiter and the Sun. If the planets are situated like that, the gas giant is close to our planet. You can spot Jupiter much comfortable now, especially this month, every night just looking at the sky.
Besides this, Jupiter is the giant planet from our Solar System and can be spotted with the naked eye, but it’s better if you look for the marvelous planet with binoculars or a small telescope. Why is that? Because with these objects, you can see the four largest Moons of Jupiter and maybe the banded clouds that are circling the planet.
Also, because of Jupiter’s prime position, the sky gazing can be more effective now with binoculars, and even the biggest Moons are available for watching. Unfortunately, in other times of the year, you won’t have the same chance to see everything Jupiter has to offer, and if you are in an area without light pollution, this will give you a plus.
Finally, NASA is recommending taking a walk in the night between June 14th and June 19th when the Moon is forming a lineup with Jupiter and Saturn, which will change each night. You will see the difference in these five days because the Moon moves in its orbit around our planet.
