Health and Wellness In The 21st Century

Our Health and wellness in the 21st century has changed considerably for many of us that are getting close to retirement.

Many of us had employers that paid a large portion if not all of our health insurance premiums back in the day as it was provided as just one of many perks to keep good talent.

Today, all of that has changed and healthcare has now been transferred over to us as individuals for the most part having many of us now learning to take personal responsibility of our own health care.

As we age we begin to pay the price for some of the things we did when we were younger that we easily got away with for instance consuming poor diets many loaded with sugar and sodium, generous intake of alcohol, and for others possibly a heavy smoking habit.

Once we get older a time comes when those habits can come back to haunt us in various forms and fashions.

However all is not lost if we make a dedicated decision right now to turn our health around through a commitment to begin to eat healthier, and begin a rigorous exercise program that has a strengthening and cardiovascular component.

As I am a senior myself and closing in on my retirement years though  I am a believer in there is really is no such thing as retirement due to the fact, I believe we as humans always need to grow and expand our knowledge and maintain a high activity level to stay healthy both mentally and physically.

I have worked in the medical community for over 23 years as a physical therapist in the home health setting and I have seen what can happen when you make the decision to put your health and fitness off thinking possibly " that always happen to someone else".

I have written  a simple but concise eBook titled, Health and Wellness In The 21st Century that can be found on

Its a simple read however it provides information for many of you that do not have experience in health and fitness and are confused quite honestly on where to start.
