Who is Mark Hamill?

Voice actor for Batman’s the Joker in 1992 and famous for his lead role as Luke Skywalker in Star Wars, Mark Hamill, born September 25 of 1951 in Oakland California, is an American actor and writer. He is the son of the US Navy Captain William Thomas Hamill, Scottish and Irish descent and Virginia Suzanne who was half Swedish and half English. Other than his famous roles in The Elephant Man and Amadeus, he has also done some voice acting, such as the Trickster on the 2014 TV-series The Flash and Captain Stickybeard in the kids-show Codename: Kids Next Door.

Mark attended many schools during his early life due to his dad changing his commanding station. He did his first year of high school at James Madison high school; then, his family moved to Virginia, and he ended up attended high school there. His father had a position in Japan where Mark took his junior year and graduated from Nile C Kinnick Highschool in 1969. His career was growing steadily in the first couple of years, he appeared on the Bill Cosby Show, one day at a time and couple of more, but it wasn’t until his role in Star Wars that Mark’s career skyrocketed. In 2014, Mark voiced the Sith Lord Darth Bane; then in the 2017 movie The Last Jedi, he was asked to play Luke Skywalker again.

When star wars directors decided to make their new movie Star Wars: The Force Awakens, they had in mind to bring back some of the well-known faces of the previous movies. Carrie Fischer and Mark Hamill were the big rocks of the old days having played Luke and Leia’s roles. Carrie Fischer was obliged to go on a rigorous Diet to go back to her old weight. She was starving as her caloric intake was minimal. It can be a shame how much pressure the world exert on celebrities. Mark, by his turn, had to change his diet and lifestyle to slip once again into his old role. As a result, the 64-year-old actor lost 50 pounds. While he used to enjoy his breakfast in the previous days, he now chooses colors over taste. Instead of his famous bagels, chips and potatoes meal; he had some fruits and veggies. He believes that his diet is based on the idea that what tastes right has to be bad for you.

After his impressive weight loss, Mark does not want to be praised. If people kept talking about how great he looks now; this only implies that he looked so bad before his weight loss. This man spent 50 tough weeks to lose the weight he was supposed to drop. It was a strict diet accompanied by a rigorous exercise regimen. His shock was when he discovered that all his hard work was for just one scene only. This man endured changing his lifestyle for what he thought was not worth the efforts. Mark used to start every meal with his bread and butter, he loved his sugars and was a candy bar lover. Also, he was a regular of In-and-out.  His scene was brief, and Carrie’s was the same. Mark is struggling with the idea that Carrie had an early heart attack that led to her death directly after filming her scene.

Mark was put on a low calories diet with twice a week workout. His diet consisted of many restrictions. As a beginning, the actor was obliged to get rid of processed food, simple sugars, and all junk food. So, in other words, he was on a low carbs diet. This type of regimen usually let the body shift his energy source from breaking down carbs to breaking down fat reserves and fat from the food.

The bulk of his diet was of fruits and veggies. Maybe the system could be similar to the caveman Diet Food list. The caveman diet or paleo diet is one that stays away from all processed food, salt, and sugar. Its core foods are fruits and veggies, as well as lean meats. This system has been proven to enhance your health overall, and your heart’s health specifically! In other words, the regimen is a high protein and high fibers diet. Mark’s diet was very high in probiotics like kombucha. Kombucha is a mix of fermented teas. It is an effervescent drink made of both black and green tea. This drink has many health benefits other than helping you lose weight.  This new mixture of teas claims to help cure asthma, cataracts, diabetes, and diarrhea.  It shrinks the prostate and expands the libido. From another angle, it helps reverse grey hair and lower hypertension.

From another angle, he had to go on a rigorous workout that consisted of combined resistance training, plyometrics, and cardio. Mark not only lost 50 pounds of weight; but, he looks much younger and healthier now.  Some of the exercises were plank-based ones, pull-ups, push-ups, and he worked a lot on his medicine balls, resistance bands, and free weights.  To help the actor recover quickly, he was given cold compresses to reduce any swelling and pain.

Mark was not on the bulletproof diet menu nor was he taking any weight loss pills like the ephedrine diet pills.

Mark Hamill was an icon ever since his star wars movie, he looked amazing and people expected him to stay exactly the same throughout the years. But, celebrities and actors are human beings with real life problems and it can be tough to expect them to remain the same as the posters you have for them hanging on your wall. While women might give birth and go through many hormonal changes; men, can face depression, and real life pressures. Mark did lose 50 pounds by working very hard for it. With a combined diet and exercising regimen, he was able to bring back his old self.
