Fat Vs Muscle

Which Weighs more one pound of fat or one pound of muscle?

It’s a question that is asked in gyms across the world. As we workout, eat healthier, and burn those calories people ask which weighs more. If you are working out and working out but end up gaining 2 lbs instead of loosing you’ll always hear someone say that muscles weighs more than fat.

This is not true. A pound is a pound. It’s like the trick question that you’re asked in school; which weighs more a ton of feathers or a ton of bricks? They weigh the same they’re one just takes up more space than the other.

That’s how muscle and fat works.

They both weigh the same, but the muscle takes up much less space. Imagine that as your body. You may not see the numbers on your scale moving, but how do your clothes fit? Are your pants looser despite not “loosing any weight”?

Don’t focus on the weight aspect of becoming healthier and leaner. Focus on loosing the fat.

By burning more calories than you consume and incorporating strength training, you can burn that fat and develop that lean, healthy body.

Remember that muscle is a lot more dense than fat is. Which is why two people who weigh the same can have vastly different looking bodies.

If you have two people who weigh 150 lbs and one eats whatever they want without working out they will not look the same as someone who watches what they eat and goes to the gym.

It’s not about that scale. It’s about your fat to muscle ratio.

If your pants are fitting looser and you like what you see, you’re on the right path for you.
