Kuberakshak Ghan Vati - Ingredients, Method Of Preparation & Its Uses

INTRODUCTION

Planet Ayurveda's Kuberakshak Ghan vati is an Ayurvedic formulation mentioned in classical texts by various Acharyas. This includes various ingredients such as Guggul (Commiphora mukul), Amrita (Tinospora cordifolia), Manjishtha (Rubia cordifolia), and Haridra (Curcuma longa). These all are helpful in maintaining Vata, Pitta, and Kapha dosha effectively. This formulation helps to maintain healthy blood and helps to alleviate the blood-related disorders and strengthens the digestive tract and also shows its effective properties in maintaining healthy skin. These herbs are used to enhance hair growth and relieve various inflammatory disorders. According to Ayurveda, there are three energies in our body that are commonly called three doshas: Vata, pitta, Kapha. Here, pitta dosha governs the digestive system when this dosha gets imbalanced and develops agonising symptoms like excessive reflux of acid or burning sensation in the body, or various types of skin disorders.

INGREDIENTS USED IN KUBERAKSHAK GHAN VATI

There are four ingredients in Kuberakshak Ghan Vati that are very useful in balancing all the three doshas. These are-

DESCRIPTION OF INGREDIENTS

1. Guggul (Commiphora mukul)

Guggul is tikta (Bitter), katu (pungent) rasa, along with laghu (light) and rooksha (dry), vishad (clears channels), sukshma (tiny), sugandhi (aromatic) and ushna (hot) potency and helps in alleviating tridoshas. This herb is perfect for vata shaman because of its ushna potency. Due to its ruksha and vishada guna it is also effective in obesity and due to its theekshana and ushna guna it pacifies Kapha dosha. This herb is useful in Shothahara, vedana sthapana, vrana shodhana, vrana ropana and jantu ghana in nature.

2. Amrita (Tinospora cordifolia)

This herb is useful in vaya sthapana, dahaprashaman, trishna nighrahan, stanya shodhana, triptighana categorised by Acharya Charak and by Acharya Sushrut it is categorised under guduchyadi, patoladi, Aragwadadi, kakolyadi, vallipanchmula gana. This herb helps to pacify tridoshas, it is commonly used in vataj disorders with ghrita, in pittaja disorders with sharkara, in kaphaja disorders with madhu. It is specifically used in skin disorders or in painful disorders, cardiac disease, diabetes, fever, inflammatory conditions, for reducing burning sensation, and is very beneficial in rejuvenating. It helps to protect our crucial organs from free radicals and helps in regenerating the damaged cells.

3. Manjishtha (Rubia cordifolia)

This herb is very beneficial in kapha-pitta shamak and is shothahara, vrana ropana, kushtha ghana in nature. In various skin disorders its paste is applicable on affected areas, its intake is useful in low digestive fire, bloating, painful conditions, constipation and worm infestations. It is also very beneficial in blood related disorders, kushtha ghana and other inflammatory disorders. This is tikta (Bitter), kashaya (astringent) and madhur (sweet) in taste and it is guru or ruksha in nature along with hot potency as well as its post digestive effect is katu (pungent). This is mainly kapha-pitta shamak in nature.

4. Haridra (Curcuma longa)

This herb belongs to Zingiberaceae family, its taste is rich in tikta (Bitter), katu (pungent) rasa along with ushna potency, qualities are laghu (light) and rooksha (dry). It is kapha vata shamak, pitta rechaka and due its tikta guna it is pitta shamak in properties. Its ushna guna is helpful in relieving the pain. Alleviates the skin disorders, or enhancing the skin complexion, used as a purification of blood, it has pitta balancing properties and shonit shodhak properties, increases the digestive fire, this herb is said to be the best herb for mutra sangrahani, mutra virajniya and used in diabetic patient.

CLASSICAL METHOD OF PREPARATION

Collect all the herbs according to their collection time that is mentioned in Samhitas, for their wonderful effects and grind them to make fine powder, mix fine powders of herbs, use jaggery to form it like a paste. This paste should be rolled to form tablets and kept for drying. After drying these pills, they should be preserved in an airtight container. This is a classical method of preparation that is used for preparing Kuberakshak ghan vati that helps us to treat various diseases that are caused due to vitiation of tridoshas.

USES OF KUBERAKSHAK GHAN VATI

This formulation can be used by all the age groups, whether they are children, adults or of any age category, and this is the responsibility of needful that this formulation can be consumed only with the prescription of an Ayurvedic practitioner.

INDICATIONS

Some specific diseases that are indicated for kuberakshak ghan vati -

  • Various skin disorders like acnes, pruritus, eczema, irritation, itching, psoriasis, infectious diseases, dermatitis, inflammatory conditions.
  • Urinary infections.
  • Painful conditions of joint or muscles.

DOSAGE

1 tablet twice daily with plain water after meals.
