Pzizz is looking for an ambitious person to help lead Android development, helping us bring great sleep to more people (learn more about us).

What you’ll be working on:

Our development team has done a great job building out the Android app, but they need help!

You’ll be working not only on continued development of our Android app, but exciting new projects like ‘smartphone sonar’ and eventually real-time sensor/music personalization feedback loops (among other things).

Long term we have an exciting timeline and vision of projects we want to execute with you, so you’ll definitely have a lot to look forward to.

Responsibilities:

• Work with leadership and development team to establish product goals and timeline
• Write scalable, maintainable, and reusable code that is backed up with good documentation
• Provide quality testing as it relates to both unit and system integration dependent on the tasks assigned
• Collaborating with the team to support experiment ideation and execution
• Research, vet, learn, and deploy new technologies and best practices on an ongoing basis
• Participate in the full lifecycle of Android based apps by using Java, Android SDK, and Android Studio
• Contribute to the architecture and implementation of new features, data modeling, and interface guidelines adherence
• Participate in regular code reviews and open team communication
• Create and document technical requirements, solution architecture, release notes as needed

What we are looking for:

• Strong technical background and track record (optimally with examples of results from past mobile development work)
• A deep familiarity with the Java language, Android API libraries and Android Developer Tools
• Understanding of overall app architectures like MVVM, MVP, MVC
• Strong understanding of general Android constructs such as Android XML layouts, Content Providers, Fragments, and Activities
• Experience with test driven development and behavior driven development
• Solid understanding of the full app development life cycle in an agile environment
• Excellent analytic skills
• Outstanding written, oral and organizational ability
• If you have prior experience working with audio systems (like http://superpowered.com/) that’s a plus!
• A good sense of humor!

Compensation:

Everyone is unique. We tailor compensation packages for you, based on experience, skillset, location, position and other factors that are part of your unique circumstances. We’ll work with you to craft a compensation package you’ll be happy and excited about.

Location:

This position is fully remote. Hours are flexible, but full time.
