Lyme Disease Causes, Symptoms And Tips Guide

Hello Friends, Today i am going to tell you Lyme Disease Causes. This is the best way to find Lyme Disease Symptoms. So you can check Lyme Disease Tips and Treatment below Here. Lyme disease is an infection caused by bacteria called Borrelia burgdorferi. These bacteria are transmitted through the bites of ticks, primarily the deer tick. Not everyone who develops symptoms of Lyme Disease remembers getting bitten by a tick because the deer tick is very small and its bite can go unnoticed.According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), it is the most common disease spread by ticks in the northern hemisphere. It affects about 300,000 people a year in the United States and 65,000 people a year in Europe.

Lyme Disease - Symptoms
The symptoms of Lyme disease depend on the stage of the disease. You may first notice symptoms weeks to months after the tick bite. If the disease isn't treated, it may progress from mild symptoms to serious, long-term disabilities.

1) In the first stage, you may have a rash (erythema migrans camera.gif) at the site of the tick bite. You may also have a lack of energy or a headache and stiff neck. Sometimes people have no symptoms at this stage.

2) In the second stage, symptoms may include memory problems and pain and weakness in the arms and legs.

3)In the third stage, symptoms may include swelling and pain (like arthritis) in the joints, not being able to control facial muscles, and numbness and tingling in the hands, feet, or back.

If you don't have symptoms during stage 1, your first symptoms may be those found in stage 2 or 3.

Prevention
If you are in a region where Lyme disease is more common, you can:

Avoid woods, high brush, and grasses where ticks hide

Wear long pants and long sleeves; white clothing makes is easier to spot ticks

Examine your skin for ticks soon after returning from wooded areas or areas with high grass or brush

Apply tick repellents (especially those that contain DEET) to the skin and clothing

Antibiotics are not prescribed for every tick bite, because the risk of getting Lyme disease is quite low, ranging from less than 0.1% in most areas to 5% in some areas of the Northeast and Midwest. For people that live in areas where Lyme disease rates are high, one dose of doxycycline can usually prevent disease if taken within three days of a tick bite. So for those at highest risk, early treatment may be appropriate. A Lyme disease vaccine is not currently available for humans.
