The New Patient

Excitement and nervousness were the emotions of the day. Today was the first appointment with a new Doctor. Heart palpitations are still strong even after the visit. Crashing at home afterwards and waiting for my nerves to settle down is about all I feel like doing. Starting as a new patient with a holistic health practice is scary and also giving me a new hope.

Spending an hour discussing my entire health history was a little overwhelming. We discussed almost all of my physical symptoms, disorders, and diseases. There was also the dreaded talk about emotional and mental history. I was glad that all of this was covered, because it’s part of the big picture.

Baring your soul isn’t easy, though. Sometimes we feel ashamed to have so many things wrong with us. Listening to myself, I often wonder if a new doctor will think that I’m a hypochondriac. I didn’t get that impression today, but I guess I’m wary. Most of us have had some interesting reactions and accusations over the years.

If you want to finally get your medical facts and information in order, check out my new Medical Binder. It can really make keeping track of your health a little easier.

It shouldn’t be so difficult to get health care that is really care. We shouldn’t have to go to a long list of doctors that fail to really help us. But, with chronic illnesses, this can certainly be the case. Putting the health puzzle together must be awfully tough, because I’m 58 years old and am still waiting on that to happen.

A very first good sign with this doctor is that he has put in a prescription for LDN. I’ve seen over and over how many other chronic illness patients have had wonderful results with LDN. Because I’ve only been offered muscle relaxers and Advil, I’m eager to see if this will be the drug that really helps my pain levels.

In two weeks I’ll meet the doctor again to discuss a treatment plan. My hopeful side says, Yay! I can’t wait. My anxious side is just afraid that there will be more pain before there is a little relief. But, my hopeful side must win this battle.
