Knowing what they want is the trick. This is achieved by knowing all about the person. The item should not be too expensive for you or too cheap. It should be the one most needed and affordable to you.

Find a gift that will remind them of the past. If you have a previous relationship with the nurse either a friend or an acquaintance, you should get them thing that will remind them of your times together. It is also thoughtful to get him or her reservations at their favorite restaurant or a place he or she has always wanted to dine and cater for all the expenses. Food will always cheer up someone no matter what.

Add something personal in the gift. A handwritten card signed with your name usually sends the message that you care for the other person. You can also customize your gift to create a personal connection with the receiver. A customized gift is more thoughtful than an anonymous one
