Flames to Open in Dorchester's Ashmont/Peabody Square Area

A local group of Caribbean restaurants will be opening its fourth location, with this one coming to a section of Boston that has seen some revitalization of late.

According to an article in the Dorchester Reporter, Flames is planning to open in the Ashmont/Peabody Square section of Dorchester, moving into a vacant building at 1 Peabody Square. Once it opens, the new eatery could be featuring such items as Jamaican beef patties, jerk chicken wings, conch fritters, roti, oxtail, curried goat, stuffed crab, corn bread, and more, based on the menus at Flames' other locations in Grove Hall, Mattapan, and Mission Hill. If all goes as planned, the new location of Flames is expected to open later this year.

Peabody Square and the Ashmont area have seen some upgrades and development over recent times, including new landscaping and signage as well as the opening of such places as the Treadmark building, which is home to a location of American Provisions.

Thanks to Universal Hub for initially bringing this to our attention.
