It looks like the Wahlberg brothers may be opening another Boston location of their chain of burger restaurants, and this one would be in their old neighborhood.
The Boston Herald is reporting that Wahlburgers is planning to open within the upcoming South Bay Town Center development in Dorchester, which will be located next to the South Bay shopping center just off the Southeast Expressway. The article says that the Hingham-based company, which is headed up by former Dorchester residents Mark, Donnie, and Paul Wahlberg, hopes to raise $10 million from investors to open the place and that they have already raised $1.36 million. If the new Wahlburgers does become reality, it would be 5,000 square feet in size, according to the Herald.
Currently, locations of Wahlburgers in the Greater Boston area can be found in Hingham, Boston's Fenway neighborhood, and Lynnfield, and a fourth outlet plans to open at Logan Airport sometime this spring. The website for the chain can be found at https://www.wahlburgersrestaurant.com/
