In a move that might give normal home buyers whiplash, actor J.K. Simmons has spun around and relisted his home less than a year after he bought it.

The seven-bedroom home, which spans 8,763 square feet of living space, has everything an in-demand Hollywood star could want: a dining room, eight bathrooms, a closet with room for 100 pairs of shoes, and a living room with domed ceiling and fibre optic lighting, all set within a 1.6-acre tropically landscaped plot. Fencing and a hedge wall keep the estate, called El Paradisio, shrouded in privacy, which means the 61-year-old actor can enjoy the lighted tennis court and swimming pool with waterfall without fear of intrusion from the press.

Simmons, though, hasn’t enjoyed the tennis court for long: he first purchased the home, which is located in California’s seaside community of Del Mar, in December 2015. He paid $3.94 million for the property, reports the LA Times and now, has bumped up the asking price to a cool $4.495 million, despite an apparent lack of renovations or improvements. Variety, though, notes that the original property’s asking price a year was $4.495 million – in the ways of Simmons’ Whiplash character, which won him an Oscar, Golden Globe and BAFTA, that’s exactly our tempo.

Akiva Goldsman quietly lists Beverly Hills home

Hollwood producer and writer Akiva Goldsman has quietly listed his Beverly Hills home on the market.

The Tuscan-style villa, which sits on a secluded hillside, was snapped up by the Oscar-winning talent back in 2007 for around $7 million from none other than Red Hot Chilli Peppers lead Anthony Kiedis.

The two-storey home, which boasts five bedrooms and six bathrooms, not to mention a custom bell tower with views of the surrounding canyon, city and mountains, is just one of several homes owned by the script doctor. His portfolio ranges from a 3,200-square-foot home in Southampton, New York ($4.45 million in 2014) and an extensive estate that in New York’s Pine Bush that he inherited from his mother. That hasn’t stopped him making the most of his Beverly Hills home, though: the asking price is now $12.5 million.

Alyson Hannigan flips LA home

Flipping is the order of the day in Hollywood and Alyson Hannigan is the latest star to join in the fun.

The Buffy and How I Met Your Mother star bought the New England-style home in Los Angeles less than a year ago for $7.89 million. That sum fetched her and her husband, fellow Joss Whedon regular Alexis Denisof, four bedrooms and six bathrooms, not to mention a rock fireplace, bookcases with crown molding and French doors opening on to a patio and swimming pool. Now, the pair have put the home back up for sale, with a higher price tag of $8.795 million. They have put in the wood to earn the hike, though, with refinished floors, a fresh lick of paint and a remodeled kitchen all sorted within the last 12 months.
