Unable To Unpin A Folder From Quick Access In Windows 10.

In this article, we will discuss the steps you can take if you’re unable to Unpin a folder or program from your Quick Access menu in Windows 10. This could be caused by a lot of things like file corruption and other things. However, the solution is in most cases quite easy. In this article, we will help you if you have a problem with unpinning folders.

Emptying AutomaticDestinations

Like most things in Windows, the settings / information for all folders in Quick Access is saved somewhere. In this case, it’s saved in the AutomaticDestinations-MS file. We will remove this file in order to solve your problems.

1. Navigate to “%AppData%\Microsoft\Windows\Recent\AutomaticDestinations\“. The easiest way to do this is by simply copying it and pasting it in the address bar as displayed below

2. Now find a file called “f01b4d95cf55d32a.automaticDestinations-ms“. Right-click it and choose Delete

.

3. It could take some time to update but all Quick Access pins should now be gone from your system and the normal behaviour should be back.
