Choosing the Prime Material

When designing your ideal event, color and theme are major subjects to consider.  However, by altering the Material used on certain tables, you can draw the gaze of guests to certain areas and help create a certain ambiance that will dazzle and daze all in attendance.

To help you choose the best material to suit your needs, we’ve listed some of our most popular materials below along with some of their key features.

Polyester

This is our most popular fabric, and for good reason. With a matte finish, this material is durable and comes in thirty-two (32) vibrant colors.  Our Polyester Tablecloths are all seamless, including the 132 in. Round and 90×156 in. Rectangular, which are the largest of their respective sizes.

If you’re looking for a basic tablecloth that will hold up,  then Polyester can be a great choice.

Satin

While similar to Polyester in terms of color choices, Satin has a sheen to it. This means that Satin Tablecloths can often appear to have a darker dye lot than their Polyester counterparts.  It’s also important to keep in mind that due to the characteristics that make Satin shiny, it is a smidge harder to care for. For example, when ironing, you’ll need to have your water/steam off as if the iron leaks it can leave water marks on the linen.

Satin is a great choice for accents on Polyester tablecloths or for events with a bit of glam due to the characteristic sheen of the material.

Organza

Organza rounds out our list of basic materials.  Like the previous two linen options, it comes in a wide variety of colors.  Unlike Satin or Polyester though, Organza is sheer meaning you can see through it.  While not offered as a tablecloth for obvious reasons, organza overlays and chair sashes can help create a light and airy ambiance within your venue.  Since organza is sheer, you can also get different shades of colors by mixing darker shades below lighter organza items.

Shantung

If you’re torn between Satin and Polyester, Shantung Silk can be a fantastic compromise. Durable like Polyester and with less of a sheen than Satin this fabric is unique in its slight ribbed texture. Shantung Silk’s particular texture gives a somewhat rough feel and seems to glow in certain light.  The result is extremely elegant without being over the top.

Pinwheel

Pinwheel gets its look from fabric gathering in multiple spots throughout the tablecloth. Extremely silky and made from light taffeta, these tablecloths in twelve (12) colors.  LinenTablecloth also carries Pinwheel Chair Sashes and Table Runners. The effect created by the gathered fabric and bright colors helps give this material a fun and lively feel.

Sequin

Available in three different sizes, sequins are a brilliant way to accent important tables.  This could be the cake, sign in, or head table. Do one table or all of them, but sequin tablecloths are certainly a way to add a glamorous touch to your event.  If you love sequins, but don’t want to overdo it, sequin runners, chair covers, drapes, and overlays are a splendid way to add some pizzazz to your venue without being blinded by shimmering sparkles.

Jacquard

When you’re feeling like royalty, the Jacquard tablecloths may the way to go.  Decorated with a golden sprialing design the fabric is surprisingly durable, similar to Polyester.  Right now, this tablecloth is only offered with a golden design and four (4) base color options. It is also available as a Table Runner.

We’ve only touched on a few materials that LinenTablecloth carries as tablecloths.  Since we manufacture our own linen, we’re constantly expanding our inventory. Other notable materials you may want to check out include sheer, tulle, and taffeta.

Keep an eye out for our upcoming bundles, many of which will feature these premium materials!
