Tastefog Qute Review – A Fruit Focused Disposable Vape

The Tastefog Qute is in for review today.

The parent company of Tastefog have been manufacturing vapes since 2018, Tastefog looks to have arrived a couple of years later. So quite a young brand on the Vape scene and not one I’m familiar with.

At this point in time it looks as though they are 100% focused on disposable vapes, which is no surprise considering the popularity of these devices over the last couple of years.

With that in mind I’m hoping for good things from the Qute vape.

What Can We Expect From The Tastefog Qute Disposable Vape?

The Tastefog Qute is a very compact vape, despite that, it still features a 550mAh battery.

The Qute is TPD compliant with 2ml capacity and a 20mg/2% nicotine level. Internally we have a 1.2Ohm mesh coil and nic salt e-liquid available in 10 flavours.

The device itself is made from a moulded plastic to create smooth edges and finish that is comfortable in the hand. There is a lanyard included with each vape which can be used by attaching to the top of the device, if that’s your thing.

The underside of the vape features an led light, which is activated when taking a draw and a small airflow hole. It will blink when the battery dies.

The Qute is finished off with branding to one side of the device.

Last but not least, we have ‘upto 800 puffs’, which is quite a lot for the size of battery. We will discuss that more below.

Packaging has all the details you would expect (nic strength | e-liquid capacity | puffs to expect | battery capacity) and inside the box there is a lanyard included as well as each device being housed in a foil packaging to keep the freshness sealed in.

So all good on that front.

Let’s get stuck into the flavours.

One thing to always keep in mind with any reviews of e-liquids, pre-filled pods. Flavour is subjective. What may be good for me may not be for you.

What we aim to do is see if the flavour does what it says on the tin so to speak.

Thanks to Tastefog for sending these across for the purposes of review. As always, our views are our own.

Kiwi Passion Fruit Guava

I like my fruity vapes, preferably with a hint of coolada for that refreshing blast, which I guess is a good thing as the majority of Tastefog Qute flavours fit this profile.

This particular flavour is right up my street.

Guava is the main player here, but I love a good guava vape, it’s not heavy hitting, just subtle enough to know it’s there with its prominence coming through on the exhale.

The kiwi backs this up, again, it’s subtle but just enough to get a hint. Passionfruit takes a backseat and is just about noticeable but the overall blending here is very good.

For me, this is a great flavour. Very refreshing leaving a good cooling in the mouth.

Strawberry Kiwi

The predominant flavour is strawberry which is picked up on both the inhale and exhale.

The kiwi, again, is very subtle but it would have been nice to get that sharper flavour coming through a little more.

Strawberry flavours can sometimes be too sweet and artificial. This one sits in the middle and for me it’s just that bit too sweet. I like me a ripe juicy strawberry rather than sweet shop style.

As with all the flavours by Tastefog there are two other forces at play. Sweetness and coolada.

Has to be said, I’m personally not one for overly sweet vapes. The cooling effect though I do like.

So, while this is good overall it’s not one I could personally vape all day long. If you don’t mind a slightly sweeter vape then happy days!

Watermelon Ice

I love a good watermelon vape and Tastefog have duly delivered. I thank you.

The watermelon is just right in terms of flavour on the inhale and exhale, as is the sweetness. The ice element adds a refreshing waft over the tastebuds without being too overpowering.

This is on par with some of my favourite watermelon vapes, definitely not just for the summer. Recommended.

Triple Mango

I like mango but when it comes to transferring over to a vape it can be hit or miss. I find they can offer a great flavour but tend not to be all day vapes due to the sweetness that must be needed to replicate the flavour.

As the name suggests you would expect the mango flavour to be pretty full on, and it is.

It’s a very good flavour that hits more on the exhale and leaves a nice aftertaste in the mouth. It gives me a good throw back to scoffing mango sticky rice on my travels.

Again, this has the cooling effect that lends itself well to the overall flavour.

Very good, but like the majority of mango flavours I’ve tried, just a little too sweet for an all day vape for me. If mango is your thing though I’d recommend giving this a try.

Green Apple

Sweet and sour is what I’m really looking for in a good green apple vape. While the apple flavour is there (along with the sweetness that runs through a lot of this range) it falls a little short when it comes to that sour note.

Having said that you can just about get the peel of the apple coming through on the exhale that definitely adds to the flavour. The cooling note runs through again that does help give it more of a refreshing vape.

Not a bad version by any means but I was hoping for that little bit more.

Lemon Mint

I’ve never been a fan of lemon flavoured vapes, I think it’s because most of them taste like Lemsip to me.

Have Tastefog bucked the trend here? Hmm.. Yes and no.

The lemon flavour still comes through like the previously mentioned powdered medicine but the saving grace, for me, is the addition of the mint. This takes the edge off.

The mint is subtle though, just lingers in the background. In my books it’s a good addition that doesn’t leave me feeling like I’m medicating for the flu as other lemon flavours in the past have.

While it might not sound it from what I’ve said this is a decent flavour overall, the more I actually vaped it the better it got. Just not an all day vape for me personally.

Grape

Another flavour profile I’ve had no joy with in the past. It doesn’t look like this is going to change my mind.

From the first drag there is a strange mix of floral notes coming through and while a grape flavour does show itself it all tastes extremely artificial.

Tie this in with the coolant coming through and I have to say this is not a pleasant vape and the first one that I’m not going to carry on vaping after testing for this review.

I’ll say again, taste is subjective, so if you do like a grape flavour profile then this could be a different experience for you. If it is I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments below.

Triple Melon

Tastefog pretty much nailed the watermelon ice flavour so I had high hopes for triple melon.

Unfortunately it doesn’t quite hit the mark. The triple melon flavour, for me, is more on the single side.

The coolant overpowers this particular flavour with the melon only really coming through on the exhale and then again more noticeable when it lingers in the mouth.

If this was just described as melon I think it would be decent but I was expecting to be smacked in the face by melon with this one.

Monster

I’ve not had an energy drink for a while but I’ve got to say, the first draw on this flavour brings the flavour memory flooding back.

Thinking about it, I don’t think I’ve had a can of Monster, which would be the obvious contender for flavour profile.

Red Bull was my go to back in the day. This definitely reminds me of that.

I can’t even describe what flavour notes are in these original energy drinks so I won’t attempt it here, but if you’ve tried Red Bull then this is what to expect. Simple as that!

It’s a sweet vape, as is the drink version, but it’s a good version nonetheless.

Battery Performance and Number of Puffs

Tastefog are pitching an impressive 800 puffs for the Qute.

I didn’t quite get there. From the three devices I did my best to count the drags I managed between 300-400 drags before the battery gave out. A fair bit of a range, I know.

What I will say though is that I vaped most of these in a restricted direct lung style (RDL). So this is a about a 4 second drag. As opposed to a standard mouth to lung (MTL) draw which is roughly 2 seconds based on a quicker, shorter draw.

I would guess their estimates would be based someone vaping this MTL. In that case, the target puffs is nearer the mark.

The only other issue is that I found it a touch too airy for a true mouth to lung vape, hence me taking on a restricted direct lung inhale.

Final Review Verdict

The flavours on a whole are very good. They may be on the sweet side but this seems to be the case for a lot of disposable devices.

The device itself is compact which makes a nice portable vape to carry when out and about.

The only real let down would be for those looking for an out and out mouth to lung vape.

Due to the vape being on the airy side I didn’t get much satisfaction vaping MTL, so had to change my vaping style to a restrictive DTL for this particular device to get that satisfying vape. This left the amount of puffs claimed a fair bit short.
