IVG Calipro Disposable Vape Review – See The Difference

Today I’m taking a look at the new Ivg Calipro Disposable vapes.

We can use UK based IVG as a gauge when measuring just how popular disposable vapes have become. Only a year ago they released their very first, the IVG Bar and it proved to be extremely popular.

But with so many flooding the market from China, time hasn’t exactly been on the side of this multi award winning manufacturer.

To keep up with the competition the Bar Plus, Diamond Bar and Bar Crystal followed. Again each one a success in its own right.

So it’s safe to assume their latest disposable is going to vape great, right?

Tough call.

Another day, another new disposable and a year on, the scene is more competitive than ever. There’s so much to choose from now.

Let’s find out if the Ivg Calipro has what it takes to come out on top.

What Can We Expect From The IVG Calipro Disposable Vape?

With IVG being UK based the Calipro Disposable is fully TPD compliant. It increases the battery capacity of the previous Bar Crystal from 500mAh to 580mAh so I’m hoping that the suggested 600 puffs is a given.

We’ll find out soon enough.

The disposable is filled with 2ml of IVG’s award winning 20mg salt nicotine to provide a smooth inhale and a faster absorption rate.

.. There’s nothing like an early morning fix of nic salts to stave off those cravings.

With a height of 112mm it’s not the most stealthy of disposables when clasped in the hand but the 12mm thickness does mean it’s pocket friendly enough.

It appears to be made entirely of the usual toughened plastic and the mouthpiece may well be PCTG.

The Bar Crystal was known for its clear mouthpiece but the Calipro goes one better.

All of the remaining juice level can be viewed.

Look at that dinky little air bubble. Bless..

That is a stroke of genius, in my opinion. I almost feel like trying to pull it out ala pod style! In fact the Calipro disposable trumps quite a few pod kits in that every drop of E-liquid is visible, not hidden beneath a battery section.

Good job, IVG!

The coil is of mesh variety and has a resistance of 1.2ohm and the juice ratio is 50VG/50PG.

You can pick the Calipro up in 10 fruity flavours all originating from the IVG stable.

Ok. Let’s see how well the IVG Calipro disposable holds up for flavour, airflow and battery performance. Fingers crossed for 600 puffs.

Huge shout out to IVG for sending these across for the purposes of review but it ain’t changing my opinion on the flavours. If I’m not keen, I’m not keen but of course – I will tell you why.

Berries Watermelon

IVG Say:

Experience a taste of summer by pairing hand-picked Strawberries with the sweet flavour of Watermelon slices.

I Say:

A bit of an odd taste. This one reminds me of inhaling a mouthful of petrol. Tastes odd and it sounds odd doesn’t it. I think that’s because I’m not able to interpret quite what’s going on with Berries Watermelon.

It feels very much like the Watermelon is in control on the initial inhale but those Strawberry notes are clashing as opposed to working with it. As a consequence I’m getting a very ‘off the beaten track’ flavour.

The Watermelon taste doesn’t bring anything new to the world of disposable vapes. It’s the usual synthetic and artificial variety, well known to even the newest of vapers.

Combined with a hugely elevated level of Menthol, the Strawberry loses much of its presence or appeal.

There’s just a touch of sweetener added to the mix but overall, Berries Watermelon isn’t one for me.

Cherry Watermelon

IVG Says:

The flavour of the Cherries and Watermelon will pop in your mouth.

I Say:

The Cherry in this one is a late developer but when it hits, it hits. This is a vape of two halves. On the initial exhale I can pick out the Watermelon and it’s been toned down from the version found in Berries Watermelon.

Then it combines with the Cherry, creating a pleasant aroma mid vape.

That tart tasting Cherry carries plenty of sweetness through the rest of the exhale and lingers on the palate for a period of time afterwards.

Although not particularly natural tasting the Cherry is bright and popping.

This is really one of those vapes where the brain takes over. If you’re looking for the Watermelon it becomes more prominent and the same thing applies with the Cherry.

I never really received a fusion of the two but it still works just fine nevertheless.

The Menthol is omnipresent again, so be aware of that.

Juicy Berries

IVG Says:

Strawberries, Raspberries, and Blueberries combined perfectly with a tinge of Blackcurrant.

I Say:

There’s just the faintest whiff of Raspberry from the mouthpiece prior to having my first vape. What I’m presented with is subtle, candy like blending that’s not exactly what I was expecting.

The Menthol is more tolerable both on inhale and exhale but still creeps up if chain vaping.

Sweeter elements seem more focused and concentrated on the taste buds.

Juicy Berries offers something of a unique flavour with a combination of Raspberry and Blueberry that seem quite dry on the exhale. There’s a chalky texture throughout and very little in the way of juiciness.

It seems a rather vague mixture of fruit that struggles to be tasty if I’m honest.

But of you like a less concentrated, subtle yet sweet disposable vape, this might just be one to try.

Raspberry Blueberry

IVG Says:

The sweet aromatic taste of Blueberries with a burst of fresh Raspberries.

I Say:

Again it seems I’m missing the flavour explosion I was hoping for. That’s not to say Raspberry Blueberry isn’t without merit because there’s some nice aromatic and tasty flavour running through it.

In all fairness, the sweetener is well balanced and an effective back drop against the fruits.

There’s more flavour definition here than say, found in Juicy Berries.

The Raspberry is well presented if very candy like on the exhale and the Blueberries produce more of the sourness experienced during inhale.

It’s a consistent vape too for flavour, never falling away as the exhale completes. A cooling Menthol ensures that sweeter elements don’t take over and there’s generally enough of a hook to keep this one interesting.

Tropical Island

IVG Says:

A packed and juicy sweet Pineapple, Melon and Kiwi flavour.

I Say:

Very nice indeed.

If you’re after a mouth watering and refreshing vape, this could be it. The sweetness levels build during extended inhales and usher in a veritable flavour explosion on the way out.

Here Pineapple and Melon are mixed to perfection. Driving through the centre is the fresh taste of Kiwi, although it’s translating more as Banana to me for some reason.

What’s important about this vape is that at least three different fruits are readily accessible. You don’t have to struggle to taste them which is usually the case when disposables are made more complex tasting.

An ambitious mixing process that IVG have succeeded with. Those fruits are even left on the taste buds and palate post vape. Tropical Island is also the most juicy tasting profile out of the ones tested.

I would suggest you seriously consider this one for an uplifting, invigorating Summer vape.

..I can’t wait till then so I’ll just finish it off!

Battery Performance and Number of Puffs

I’m literally blown away!

The 580mAh integrated battery lasted for an amazing 15 hours. Throughout this time the Calipro disposable just kept delivering flavoursome puff after flavoursome puff.

IVG have been able to perfectly balance juice capacity with battery performance. It’s as simple as that and I’m very impressed. You’ll have vaped every last drop of E-liquid by the time the side mounted LED flashes blue ten times.

So, yeah 600 puffs is the absolute minimum you can expect to get from the IVG Calipro.

Great stuff!

Final Review Verdict

I must admit I wasn’t the biggest fan of the flavours tested, today. Not something I usually say about IVG because they know what they’re doing when it comes to mixing.

I think they fell a little short in terms of personal expectation. With the exception of a few, the flavours seemed to clash rather than work harmoniously together. Again, that’s just my opinion of course.

The vapes were all quite sweet but not sickly, some of the concentrates tasted generic and the Menthol was tolerable as long as I wasn’t chain vaping.

We must also remember I’ve uncovered two major plus points. The juice viewable mouthpiece – you will be checking it regularly. It becomes a mesmerising habit and a clear indication of what’s left to vape.

And I simply cannot finish this review without mentioning the insane battery performance.

The IVG Calipro is going down on record as being the most cost effective vape of the year.

In my opinion, of course.
