Introduction – The iStick Kiya Kit By ELeaf
The Eleaf Kiya is from a brand that’s done their job in the mainstream vaping world, an outstanding marketing team has made them one of the best known vaping brands in the world but the question is, do they live up to their classy public image and deliver gear that’s top quality?
There’s not a vaper alive who hasn’t heard of an iStick of some kind…whether it be the iStick 100W, the beloved iStick Pico 25 or other vape gear such as the Basal kit , Melo or the Invoke…the brand made waves when vaping was just finding its feet as an industry and their flow of gear hasn’t stopped.
The Melo III was an outstanding tank from the brand and the iJust series was right up their with the best of AIOs but to be honest, it’s been a while since I’ve personally sampled any of their gear…let’s just say, I’m sufficiently impressed.
I’m excited to bring you this review of the Eleaf Kiya kit because this little setup’s is one of the best vaping 50W MTL and DL setups you could ask for and while I, as a higher wattage gal, usually set my lower wattage gear aside after the review period has passed…this little duo of Kiya mod and GS Juni Atomiser is going to be my go-to, in-bag, stealth device for a long time to come.
Flavour, cloud, battery life and a list of pros as long as my arm make me a very happy happy reviewer!

Build Quality & Design
I’ve picked up a good number of mini-mods of a similar size to this one but I have to say, I was impressed with the look and feel of the little Kiya mod from the moment I laid eyes and hands on it.
From the absolutely precious Mini-fire bar with its comfortable rubberised feel, to the textured side panel and massive 1.45 inch display…there are, from the get go, a whole lot of things to like about the Eleaf Kiya.
The tiny little rectangular mod (I got the silver) has a two tone look, with all the black bits, other than the screen, having a rubberised feel thats silky smooth, like resin, to the touch. The metallic bits of the chassis are aluminium, as far as I can tell.
The base, which is black, has the micro USB charge port and 5 tiny ventilation holes for the on board 1600 battery. The Kiya is also available in other colourways, the lime green can be seen above.
On the larger side with the OLED screen you’ll find 2 tiny little adjustment buttons, round and clicky, with a tiny needle point hole between them which I assume is for resetting.
The opposite side has a fine grip texturing on the silver surface which also provides an aesthetic appeal and serves to round of the overall look, it looks neat, it looks like quality and it feels great in the hand.
Both narrower sides of the mod are rubberised, with one being a brilliant, clicky and perfectly made fire bar. Either rubber side has minimalist branding at the bottom, with eLeaf on the one side and iStick Kiya on the other
The upper surface features a deep set 510 connection that’s spring loaded but tight and surrounded by an atomiser seating that’ll prevent any scratches when screwing atties on and off.
A click on fire will display a big, analog real time clock when the device is off and when you 5 click on, the screen lights up with absolutely all your information displayed as clear as it could possibly be and nicely segregated in blocks. Resistance, battery levels, power, charge, current, everything you need.
The Eleaf GS Juni atomiser is a tiny little 20mm atomiser with a bottom adjustable airflow. Now, lack of grip on the airflow ring means I find myself having to literally unscrew the atty from the mod when I want to adjust my airflow.
When fully open, 2 x 5 mm slots provide a good restricted lung hit, along with the needlepoint DL airflow holes, which can closed off until just one of three is visible, providing one of the nicest restricted MTL hits you could possibly ask for.
The Juni has a 2ml tank, with ELeaf branding on the glass, a thin SS top cap with a removable drip tip that’s the right thickness for either an MTL or a restricted lung hit.
If you are not sure what the difference is read our Mouth to Lung vs Direct to Lung guide.
The trouble with this tank, in my opinion, is the bottom fill system, I literally have to unscrew the tank base and coil head from the glass, turn the glass and tank upside down and fill through two one of the slots…it’s hugely inconvenient, especially, I think, for beginners.
Although it does allow you to change the coil with e-liquid left in the tank.
How Does The Eleaf Kiya Kit Perform?
Quick charge, intuitive controls, an awesome screen, great ramp and a very comfortable hand feel all combine in a mini-mod that is leagues beyond most offerings of it’s size.
This is a stunning little kit and despite the fact that I find the fill method a real hassle and the airflow impossible to adjust with the tank screwed in, I feel that the GS Juni is actually a great little performer.
The GS Juni is perfect for a really solid feeling restricted lung hit, especially for such a small tank, as well as a MTL hit that’s up there with the absolute best.
The comprehensive, super bright and large OLED screen is just an added bonus on a setup that performs like a charm and includes all the TC, memory and preheat functions that you’d likely only expect to see on a full sized mod.
I enjoyed the extras, real time clock, timeout as well as a bypass mode for mechanical vaping.
I hooked up a couple of my smaller, 22mm RDA’s, which actually looked the part on this little mod, to try out the TC accuracy for Ni and SS and I have no complaints. I was particularly impressed by the ultra low resistance range in TC…although with a 50W output, I didn’t find occasion to test the boundaries here.
I found that wattage and temperature settings felt true throughout the range on the iStick Kiya and I was definitely impressed.
This mod is insanely compact, easy to use and a pleasure to vape on.

Stock Coil Performance
GS Air 1.5Ohm
Let’s start with the GS air 1.5 Ohm coil head for MTL. With it’s 8-20W range, this coil head will give you a flavourful MTL with excellent cloud production and extend your mods battery life with it’s outstanding low wattage performance, I enjoyed it at 20W.
GS Air 0.75Ohm
The GS Air 0.75 Ohm DL coil head is a flavour and cloud monster, with a recommended range of 8-25W. I have to say, I’ve been loving this coil at 35W although that’s well beyond the recommended range. To be honest, this coil on the GS Juni gives me one of the most satisfying and flavourful low wattage vapes I’ve experienced in a while.
How To Operate the Menu System
- 5 Clicks on or off
- 3 clicks to access menu
- +- to adjust or scroll menu items
- Fire to select
Great battery life through the 1600mAh on board battery. i’ve enjoyed a full 12 hours, vaping regularly at 35-40W.
- Compact size
- Quality aesthetic and hand feel
- Full range of preheat, TC and Memory functions
- Bright, large, comprehensive screen with easy controls
- Great ramp time
- Super MTL and Restricted DL airflow on the Juni
- Awesome flavour and cloud from both included coils
- Inconvenient bottom fill system on the GS Juni
- Airflow ring difficult to adjust
- Charge port on the bottom of the device can lead to device scratching
Final Review Verdict
This compact little setup of the Eleaf Kiya has earned a permanent place in my handbag, if the battery on my high powered mod runs flat I know that I can get a flavourful and cloudy, truly satisfying hit off this mod with the GS Juni tank.
I also know that if I have to offer the smoker next to me a MTL hit off this little beast, he’s gonna be well impressed. I love the Eleaf iStick Kiya Kit and I recommend it as a side mod for any experienced vaper and a great starter device for newbs. Also…if you’re after absolutely outstanding MTL…the GS Juni is your tank.
Would I buy the Eleaf Kiya if I lost/broke the device? Definitely
