Clone Evolution Guide: Tips & Tricks for Dummies

Welcome to the dummies guide on how to get stronger in Clone Evolution. Here are some tips and tricks on how to progress further into the game, increasing your clone’s overall power and leveling your Clones fast in the game.

Clone types, elements, and composition

Each clone will have its own type of role. There are 3 different types of roles in the game:

  • Offensive – Basically your DPS clone which either deals tremendous damage against the weaker backline enemies or inflicts aliments like bleeding or ignition while dealing damage. They have skills that increase their crit rate to self or your entire party.
  • Defensive – Your clone’s main tank. They have skills that boost their defense or restores HP while dealing damage to enemies. I recommend having at least 2 for your main party as your frontline clones in the early stages of the game.
  • Supporting – These clones either provide buffs to your entire party or deal AOE (Area of Effect) damage to a group of enemies. They also have the ability to inflict aliments or debuff enemies.

Each clone also has its own attribute, each of them is strong against a type of attribute:

  • Fire(Red) attribute is strong against Earth(Green) attribute
  • Earth attribute is strong against Lightning(White) attribute
  • Lightning attribute is strong against Water(Blue) attribute
  • Water attribute is strong against Fire attribute
  • Dark(Purple) and Light(Yellow) attributes are strong against each other

Before any battle, you can place up to 6 clones in a party. Placement is important in this game so place your frontline clones first then followed by your backline clones for protection. Try to place clones which have a balance of attributes since most enemies will contain different attributes. You can take the risk of not placing your defensive heroes if you wish, just take note that the frontline clones will take damage from enemies first. If you are unsure of which clones to place in the early game, you can tap the ‘Auto’ and the game will automatically place the recommended clones for you.

Campaign and other modes

Once you finish with the tutorial, do the campaign stages as far as you can (Main Menu->Campaign). The further you progress, the more offline rewards that you will obtain. Each stage cleared will reward you with commander EXP, Coins and items include clone fragments and many more. The harder the stage the higher amount of rewards you will receive. You will receive offline Search rewards for up to 8 hours maximum, you can tap the ‘Claim’ button at the bottom right side of the screen to collect your offline rewards. I would recommend collecting your offline rewards once every few hours to obtain lots of commander EXP, Coins and various items.

There are also other modes like the Expedition, Airship, and Dungeon where every stage you can see the enemy’s overall power. Make sure that your party’s overall power is at least higher than the enemy’s power to ensure victory.

Keep your green clones (Until commander level 45)

Keep your green clones as much as you can. If your clone space is full, use the grey clones as upgrade materials to level up your clones instead. Upon reaching level 45, the ‘Institute’ will open which gives stat bonuses for each attribute. This is where you can use all your unwanted green clones as food at the Institute to clear out your clone space.

Strengthing your clones – Clone equipment + upgrade clones

There are a lot of ways to strengthen your clones but here are some of the main ones:

  • Clone equipment
  • Upgrade clones
  • Increase the clone’s star level
  • Chips

You can equip your clone using gears to increase its stats and overall power. Each clone has up to 4 gear slots. Each gear also has its own rarity from grey (Lowest) to yellow (Highest). The highest rarity gear like yellow has its own gear set bonuses which requires 4 types of different gears of the same set. You can tap the ‘Unequip’ then the ‘1-Tap Equip’ and the game will automatically equip a stronger gear to your clone. Gears can also be upgraded at the Equipment Lab (Main Menu->Equipment Lab) to increase its stats further. Ores are required in order to upgrade which can be obtained either by disassembling your unwanted gear or by doing the ‘Mine Exploration’ from the Airship (Main Menu->Airship).

You can upgrade clones to increase their level at the Training Center (Main Menu->Training Center). You can use your unwanted clones but I would recommend using these iRobots as upgrade materials instead. They give more EXP to your clones. IRobot pieces can be obtained from the campaign or doing the ‘Steampunk Relic’ from the Airship (Main Menu->Airship).

Strengthing your clones – Increase the clone’s star level + chips

If you have enough chromosomes and genes, you can use them to increase the star level of a clone. Not only you will be able to upgrade their skills, but also unlock a new skill for that clone. Chromosomes and genes can be obtained from the Tavern shop.

Upon reaching commander level 40, you will unlock the chip system where you can place chips to your clone to increase its stats. You will unlock all chip slots upon reaching clone level 80. Chips can be obtained only from playing the dungeon stages (Main Menu->Dungeon). You can tap the ‘Unequip’ then the ‘1-Tap Equip’ and the game will automatically equip stronger chips to your clone. Chips can also be upgraded at the Chip Center (Main Menu->Chip Center) to increase its stats further. You will need your unwanted chips as upgrade materials in order to upgrade.

Spend your gems wisely + Obtaining more Coins

Avoid buying accelerations from the campaign or any refreshes as I feel it is a waste of your gems. I recommend spending on those ordinary clone scrolls (Requires coins), Chromosomes, acceleration tickets and arena tickets (If you need them). These items can be found at the Supply Depot (Main Menu->Supply Depot). You can also refresh the item list once for free daily. Avoid spending gems on irobot pieces, gear, and ores as you can obtain from other modes. I would also advise not to spend gems at the Gene Bank and use those scrolls to obtain clones instead.

If you somehow ran out of coins, you can obtain Coins(Other than the campaign) from either the ‘Dragon Crusade’ at the Airship or exchanging gems for coins at the ‘Hand of Midas’ (Main Menu->Tap the plus icon beside the coin amount).

Tavern and the Casino

Do the Tavern tasks daily (Main Menu->Tavern) to obtain arena tickets and Tavern coins which can be exchanged for various items and clone fragments. Each Tavern task will require clones of a certain attribute and power in order to complete it. Take note that these clones will not be usable for all modes until the task is complete.

If you have casino tokens, I suggest spending at least 2 casino tokens daily at the Casino (Main Menu->Casino). You will obtain different items and a chance to obtain purple clone fragments.

Arena

You can battle against other players at the Arena (Main Menu->Arena) to climb up in the standings. The higher your rank, the more rewards you will receive. There are 3 different opponents which you can choose before the battle. If you want an easy victory, always go for the one with the lowest power. Make sure to always update your party for defense (Tap the Tactics) against opponents who will challenge your team. I would suggest saving your arena coins and exchange them for better gear.

Joining a Guild

If you have not done so, I would suggest joining a Guild as soon as you can. You can check in daily for Guild coins and attack different clone regions to earn Guild exp, Guild coins and a chance to obtain high rarity gear. The Guild coins can be exchanged at the Guild shop for different items. The higher the Guild level, the more items that you can purchase.

Daily Logins and Tasks/Achievements

Even if you do not play this game often, I would suggest to at least log in every day for the monthly attendance rewards. I also recommend completing as many daily tasks (Main Menu->Daily Tasks) as possible (Min 10). You will obtain different rewards mainly gems, irobot fragments, and casino tokens. Make sure to collect your online rewards once they are available to claim (Main Menu->Tap the icon below the daily tasks). You can do the achievements for gems and coins if you want since they do not have any time limit.

Becoming VIP

Most of the limited event and cool event quests cannot be complete unless you purchase gems using real money. If you are going to spend a lot of time in this game and wants to obtain those purple clones much faster than the rest, it is best to recharge gems using real money (sucks to be F2P). The game does reward you a lot if you recharge gems for the first time and the more money you spend on gems, the greater the VIP rewards/unlocks that you will get.

If you are new to this game, you can download this game on either IOS or Android.
