Today July 16, 2018, Microsoft has released KB4345421 update for ( Windows 10 Build 17134.166 ) version 1803, This update exclusively focused on non-security fixes as security updates are typically rolled out on Patch Tuesday. As per the company, KB4345421 update addresses an issue that may cause some devices running network monitoring workloads to receive the 0xD1 Stop error because of a race condition after installing the July update.

Additionally, Microsoft also released KB4345420 update for windows 10 build 16299.550 (version 1709) and KB4345419 windows 10 Build 15063.1208 (version 1703) And it contains the exact same list of fixes.

KB4345421 update ( Windows 10 Build 17134.166) fixes and improvements

As per Microsoft installing this KB4345421 update fix BSOD caused on some systems after installing the July 2018 Patch Tuesday cumulative update.

Also, Microsoft says that some devices running network monitoring workloads encountered a 0xD1 Stop error, and installing this new update should resolve this behavior.

Additionally, the company explains that on some PCs, users experience loss of connectivity due to a DHCP Failover server bug causing clients to receive an invalid configuration when requesting IP addresses.

  • Addresses an issue that may cause some devices running network monitoring workloads to receive the 0xD1 Stop error because of a race condition after installing the July update.
  • Addresses an issue with the DHCP Failover server that may cause enterprise clients to receive an invalid configuration when requesting a new IP address. This results in a loss of connectivity.
  • Addresses an issue that may cause the restart of the SQL Server service to fail occasionally with the error, “Tcp port is already in use”.
  • Addresses an issue that occurs when an administrator tries to stop the World Wide Web Publishing Service (W3SVC). The W3SVC remains in a “stopping” state, but cannot fully stop or it cannot be restarted.

As per Microsoft, The KB4345421 update is not available through Windows Updates right now which means that users and administrators need to download and install it manually from  Microsoft Update Catalog. Also, you can download it from here KB4345421 Update 64-bit ( 678.2 MB) and 32-bit ( 374.8 MB). After installing the update you will notice your OS build changed to windows 10 Build 17131.166. To check the same press windows + R, type winver and ok.
