Microsoft released KB4345459, KB4345424, KB4345425 updates for Windows 7, Windows 8.1, and Server

Along with Windows 10 KB4345421 update for version 1803 (OS Build 17134.166), KB4345420 update for version 1709 (OS Build 16299.550) and KB4345419 update for version 1703 (OS Build 15063.1208). Microsoft Today (July 16, 2018) also released KB4345459 update for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2, KB4345424 update for Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2 and KB4345425 for Windows Server 2012. To address issues starting with installation issues and ending with issues that caused certain features to work incorrectly.

As per Microsoft, these updates address a BSOD experienced on systems running network monitoring workloads, as well as an issue causing the restart of a SQL Server service to fail with an error reading “TCP port is already in use.”

These updates also resolve a glitch hitting the World Wide Web Publishing Service when administrators try to stop it. Microsoft says the service remains in a stopping state and no further action can be launched.

KB4345459 Update is applicable to Devices running Windows 7 Service Pack 1 and Windows Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1. According to Microsoft, this update includes quality improvements as below.

  • Addressed issue in which some devices may experience stop error 0xD1 when you run network monitoring workloads.
  • Addresses an issue that may cause the restart of the SQL Server service to fail with the error, “Tcp port is already in use”.
  • Addresses an issue that occurs when an administrator tries to stop the World Wide Web Publishing Service (W3SVC). The W3SVC remains in a “stopping” state, but cannot fully stop or it cannot be restarted.

KB4345424 Update for Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2 and KB4345425 for Windows Server 2012 also fixes the same issues as the KB4345459 update mentioned above.
