This time of the year everyone gets excited to goal set and reflect on last year’s goals.

Goals are Extremely important, but shouldn’t just be reviewed once a year. Professionally, I am a recruiter. We have yearly goals we set for ourselves. But we are constantly looking to review them. Every week, month, quarter, and year we update our goals. Our personal lives should be no different.

If you have read my blog then you know, life is like the seasons. It’s constantly changing! So shouldn’t our goals?

Set the big goals we want to achieve first. Example: In my case-loosing weight (I’m am going with 50 lbs to start).

So to being my goal process I break it down into smaller goals like so.

Weekly Goal 1) Eat Healthy breakfast (no sugar)
Weekly Goal 2) Exercise 3-5 times on treadmill

For the weekly goals, you can get extremely specific. I’m just giving you a broad example.

Monthly Goal 1) Work up my tolerance on new exercise equipment by 25+ minuets by end of the month
Monthly Goal 2) Lose 8-10 lbs

Long Term Results: I’ll feel healthier! I’ll be living my vision! And I’ll lose 50+ lbs in 5-8 months.

See how that works? Sometimes when we look at the long-term goal we get too overwhelmed! There is an easy fix…. Just take it one little goal and one little step at a time.

And celebrate each victory! You worked hard for it after all. I personally make a goal/rewards chart (see below). I hang it where I can see it since I’m a visual person. If my goals are some where I see it then I’m more likely to hold myself accountable.

Remember, nothing is stopping you from achieving your goals accept you.
