Merry Christmas in October?! Absolutely!

You may think it’s a bit too early to start thinking about Christmas but trust us – it’s not! This is the most exciting time of the year and because ReviewRoller wants you to have the most beautiful Christmas Tree for your home, we’ve created the 2021 Guide to the Best Artificial Christmas Trees!

Christmas Trees of All Shapes and Sizes

Our buying guide is a list of the best artificial Christmas trees for your home. We’ve carefully researched to be sure we’ve gathered the top choices and have selected options to fit every budget and home.

Now, let‘s move on to the best artificial Christmas trees! We began with 7 – 7.5 foot trees as those are the most commonly purchased sizes. Following those, you’ll find the best artificial Christmas trees in sizes 8 ft -16 feet and then tabletop trees ranging in size from 3 – 4.5 feet.

Item 1: Balsam Hill – 7ft Premium Pre-Lit Artificial Christmas Tree

Balsam Hill is a popular brand of artificial trees and this one is stunning! It is 7-feet tall Classic Spruce with 800 clear LED lights. The lights emit a nice warm glow and the stand has rubber feet to prevent damage to floors. The dimensions of this tree are 52.8 x 52.8 x 84 inches.

This tree comes with fluffing gloves, a storage bag, an on/off foot pedal, as well as replacement bulbs/fuses. Assembly is simple but it is important to note the 7-foot height does include the stand.

Item 2: National Tree Company ‘Feel Real’ Pre-lit Artificial Christmas Tree

National Tree has designed “Feel Real” technology so while this tree is artificial, it’ll feel like you cut it down yourself. It has 1,147 individual branches and life-like pinecones. It’s a great choice if you prefer a more natural, woodsy look for your home.

This is a 7-foot tall Caroline Pine. Once properly fluffed, it is a full 58-inches wide at the base. The tree is easy to assemble and we appreciate the natural appearance of various shades of green. We’d like to point out that some of the branches are a bit wide at the end. That might make it difficult to hang ornaments.

With hand-crafted branch tips and 750 lights, this 7.5-foot tree would be a beautiful addition to your home for the holidays. It features 3 different sections that can be easily assembled and a sturdy metal stand.

We love the authentic winter feel the flocking provides but be warned – there is some shedding. Not a major problem as a vacuum will quickly get it up. It isn’t difficult to assemble but it takes a bit of time.

The warranty covers 5-year on the tree and 2-year on the lights. This is a well-made tree but there have been complaints that pieces were labeled incorrectly.

That didn’t seem to pose a problem though as the assembly is self-explanatory. It should also be noted that the outlets are very snug and may need help with electrical tape.

Item 9: LIFEFAIR 9FT Prelit Christmas Tree

This well-made tree features 850 clear lights and 2206 tips. It has a nice, lush appearance when completely assembled (decorations not included). We like that it is accented with light-brown stems and pinecones giving it a more realistic appearance.

National Tree Company has made our list again and that’s because we truly value the quality of their artificial trees. The burlap base on this 3-foot Nordic Spruce tree gives it a nice, rustic appearance. It comes with 100 small lights,

Set-up couldn’t be easier. Fluff it for a fuller appearance. It can work as a tabletop tree, a centerpiece, or a nice touch to your porch. The “Feel Real” Technology isn’t as noticeable on this tree and the base might be a bit wobbly.

This 4-foot tree is flocked, has pinecone accents, and hinged branches. We like the 2-toned greens that give a realistic appearance. Assembly is quite simple.

Buying Guide

Christmas packages in a miniature shopping cart.

Purchasing an artificial Christmas tree should be viewed as an investment. Obviously, you’ll want one you can use for years to come so what’s why we’ve put together this Buying Guide. Our goal is to help you find the best artificial Christmas tree for your family.

Below, you’ll find advice on how to select a tree and tips on decorating and maintenance. We’ve also included a Bonus Guide to Lights!

Are There Advantages to Owning an Artificial Christmas Tree?

Actually, there are important advantages. For one, you never have to worry about that pesky shedding that comes with a real tree. You never have to worry about watering them and you don’t have to worry about cleaning sap off your floors.

Something else to consider. Artificial trees are easily stored and do not have to be disposed of or recycled like a real tree. They will become a special part of your family holiday tradition and used for many years to come!

How to Choose Your Artificial Christmas Tree

Like with a real tree, there are some things you should consider before making a purchase. We recommend the following:

  • Color: Trees come in a multitude of colors so you’ll need to decide if you want one shade of green, variegated shades of green, or even colors such as blue, red, or white.
  • Lights: You may want to put on your own lights or maybe a pre-lit option is best since it’s less hassle.
  • Size: Always measure your space! Be sure to note if the advertised height includes the base or not.
  • Cost: The best artificial Christmas trees will be pricey. There is simply no way around that if you want quality and durability. Keep in mind you do get what you pay for!
  • Shape: If you want a more realistic tree, be sure to notice the shape of the tree. Those that are uniformly triangular look less real.
Tips for Decorating Christmas Trees

Below are useful suggestions for decorating your tree:

  • Buy quality: You get what you pay for so make sure your tree is made of premium, durable materials that will hold up and last for many years to come.
  • Choose a theme: For a more uniform look, select a theme for your tree.
  • Fluff it: Before decorating your tree, be sure to fluff the branches for fullness.
  • Light first: Always start decorating your tree with lights.
  • Add some flair: cluster ball ornaments of different sizes to add some style to your tree.
  • Use ribbons: use a single ribbon style or pair coordinating styles for added aesthetic.
  • Don’t forget the tree skirt: This is the finishing touch that will give your tree a harmonious look

8 FT 800 – 1,600

10 FT 1,000 – 2,000
12 FT 1,200 – 2,400
Maintenance and Care of an Artificial Christmas Tree

Dust! Ugh! None of us want to deal with it. Fortunately, keeping dust off an artificial tree is as easy as using a soft bristle brush to wipe off branches. You can also vacuum the tree but be very careful to not damage the branches.

Quick clean up before assembly each year – best done outside:

  • Put each section of your tree inside a heavy-duty trash bag with kosher salt
  • Shake vigorously to remove dust and debris

If you choose to do the above steps inside, be sure you remove sections from the trash bag over a sheet or some type of floor covering.

If you have a pre-lit tree, obviously soap and water aren’t an option but a tree without lights can be washed with mild soap and water in a spray bottle. Lightly spray each branch then wipe gently with a damp cloth.

If your tree is made with sturdy synthetic materials, you can even give it a shower! Stand it up and let the shower head do the work. Or use a handheld sprayer if you have one.

When using water, be sure to let your tree completely dry before decorating.

Another smart tip is to store your tree in a waterproof container or storage bag.
