Warriorforum Traffic – The Ultimate Forum Marketing Case Study

Forum marketing is an easy way to drive Traffic to your site.

The Warriorforum is one of the biggest internet marketing / make money online forum on the planet.

And more importantly, it’s full of people who are looking for help to get started.

So when you think about it, there’s no better place to find laser-targeted traffic.

Traffic that converts into email subscribers and sales!

But how do you get started driving traffic from the Warrioforum?

If you’re just starting out yourself, you might think you’re in trouble because how on earth will a complete newbie drive traffic to his / her offer?

Don’t worry, this guide will teach you exactly how!

This lesson is split up up in 2 sections, the free Warriorforum forum traffic methods and the paid Warriorforum forum traffic methods.

So let’s get started with the free methods first.

Please note: This is an updated version of a guide I posted on my old blog in 2015. Even though the Warriorforum has changed a bit, these methods are still relevant and working today.

Traffic From Your Warriorforum Signature

Getting traffic from your forum signature is the easiest way to get started. You can simply join the conversation and start posting and every time you do, other forum members will see your link.

While this is not a huge traffic generation method, here’s a screenshot of my click tracker to show you exactly how much traffic you can send to your site if you put in some effort:

As you can see I got a total of 143 clicks on my signature link in about 10 days. In those 10 days I posted about 60 posts, which is not that much (about 30 minutes per day).

And as you can see most traffic actually comes from The US which is pretty good.

Obviously this is something you need to build up over time. I have 1600+ posts in the forum and it’s a fact that you get more clicks the bigger your post count grows.

Because the links are there forever and many threads receive traffic from the search engines, I even get clicks from posts I made about a year ago!

Pretty cool huh?

How to add your signature to your profile?

In order to add your signature link, first of all go to the CP section in the top menu and click “edit signature” here:

Then you’ll arrive at the page where you can add your signature:

Now please note:

  • You can only add 5 lines and I suggest you at least use 3
  • Make sure to make the link test bold to stand out more
  • Add an enticing signature, something like: “You Want To Know How I Make Money Online? Find Out Here!”
  • Link to the landing page you created in order to build your list

So that’s it!

When this is done you are ready to start posting and get exposure for your signature and hopefully get some clicks, email subscribers and sales soon.

Don’t neglect this method and get started straight away, you’ll be thankful for it down the road.

While I mainly post on the Warriorforum to get traffic, another reason I post is for the simple fact that helping other people gains trust.

That’s why this method needs consistency to succeed. Are you willing to put in some effort every day?

Then you can acieve the same results in due time.

Traffic From Your Warriorforum Blog

A very underused but very effective way to get some easy targeted traffic is to write a post on your personal Warriorforum blog.

I have to be honest here, I haven’t used this method nearly enough myself (at the moment I’m writing this). So this is a perfect method to do a case study about.

I have only 1 post in my blog (which took me about 15 minutes to create) and the results are amazing:

As you can see, I got about 300 views on this blog post, and even better, more than 50% of the people that viewed my blog actually clicked through to my site!

Well, I wrote this blog post about 6 months ago, but that’s just from 1 post!

Let’s do some math here:

  • 1 blog posts generates 30 clicks per month
  • 10 blog posts generate 300 clicks per month
  • 50 blog posts generate 1500 clicks per month

You see the potential here?

But then again, even if the results are only half as good as what I believe is possible, it would still generate 750 clicks to your site. It only takes about 15 minutes to write the blog post too.

How do you go about that?

-> Whenever you publish a new post on your site, write a little summary of it (300-500 words)
-> Use the key elements of th post and give a brief description of those
-> Add a link at the bottom asking people if they want to read an in-depth overview

This shouldn’t take more than 15-20 minutes and will generate some traffic to your site straight away.

Why?

Because every time you post a new blog entry, it gets actually shown on the Warriorforum homepage, if you scroll down you can see that:

That definitely brings a good amount of clicks instantly.

Creating a blog is very simple, just follow the steps below.

Go to the top menu and in the blog tab click “Post To My Blog”:

After that you’ll arrive at a page with a text editor which is basically the same as if you would post a reply or topic in the main forum:

So make sure to put this into your routine every time you publish a new blog post on your site and you’ll see your traffic build ove time.

Starting Your Own Thread (Advanced Method)

Alright this method to get traffic from the Warriorforum is a little ninja tactic that will not only get you a lot of traffic, but also build up your rep in the forum. But please note, only do this when you’re already a reputable member with a post count of 100+ and several weeks (or even months) active.

You’ll need a little experience before you can use this method too, but because you are creating content which requires a lot of research, you’ll automatically be knowledgable about the content you create.

The idea is fairly simple: you post a super high quality thread on the forum that genuinely helps people out without asking anything in return.

Here you can see an example of that:

As you can see, this thread got 35,617 views! Here you can read the thread.

This particular thread explains a way to build your list and set up your funnel. It’s a system I have been using myself a lot too before so it definitely works, and this gets acknowledged by other forum members too.

The reason I know this method works so well is very simple, I made a bunch of sales from it!

Oh really? It’s not your thread right?

Yeah that’s right, but a couple of months after Frank created this thread he contacted me.

At the time I was running a Wso selling a complete done for you sales funnel, which used the same strategy as the concept Frank talked about in his thread.

So basically sending people to a training site after they subscribe and drip-feeding the content instead of just sending follow up emails.

He was getting so much PM’s from people asking him to set up a funnel for them, that he posted a reply in his thread:

The result was amazing, I got contacted by dozens of people and made just as much sales!

So what are the main benefits of this method?

  • Gain authority in the forum by proving you’re an expert
  • Tons of exposure for your signature link(s)
  • Being able to connect with numerous people

Granted, you need to have a lot of knowledge about the topic you post about. So make sure to create a thread related to one

However, when you do, this is a super cool method to put yourself out there and benefit from it in the long run.

Starting Your Own Thread: The Seo Method

So what about when you’re not a complete expert? Can you still start a thread and benefit from it?

You sure can!

To be honest, you don’t have to be an expert to provide value to the community. By doing some research you can easily help people out, gain authority and get more exposure for your site.

First let me ask you a question: I’m sure you have been doing tons of Google searches looking for info related to making money online right? So how many times have you seen a thread from the Warrioforum pop up as the first search result?

Yes that’s right: a lot!

That’s because the Warriorforum is an authority site that gets ranked in Google very easily. For this method we’re going to leverage the power of this authority. Here’s what we’ll do:

  • Create a super informative thread (1000+ words)
  • Add a bunch of keywords we can easily rank for
  • Blast some powerful backlinks to the thread

That’s about it.

Want some proof? Check this:

As you can see, all these threads have very few replies, meaning the majority of traffic is not coming from the forum. These threads simply rank for numerous keywords in Google and that’s how they get so much traffic.

It’s a fact that 20-40% of the first search results get clicked, so if you can rank 10-20 highly searched keywords in Google, your thread will get this much exposure too.

Here you can see the results of several studies regarding click through rates of the 5 first position in the Google search results over the years:

Source: Moz Blog

And guess what, if a Warriorforum thread ranks first place in Google, it will probably get much more clicks than a blog or any other website.

How many times do you click through to the Warriorforum when it ranks number one for the search term you just typed?

I do about every time.

Alright now that you see the power of this method, let’s take a closer look on how to go about setting this up.

Research Interesting topics

First head over to the main internet marketing discussion section of the forum, and rank the threads so the one’s with the highest rating are shown on top:

Then look for a thread with fairly general tips, something like “10 tips to do this and that”, here you can see some examples:

Browsing the most popular threads should give you an idea about what type of threads are searched for and informative.

So when you picked a category, doing research to write an interesting thread that offers value to the community shouldn’t be too hard. A simple Google search and tons of results will pop up to give you enough information to start writing an informative article.

Keyword research to rank the thread in Google

The cool thing about trying to rank a thread in the Warriorforum in the search engines is that you can pick keywords with higher search volumes and more competitive ones.

Don’t forget that you’re not trying to rank a brand new site. You’re posting high quality content on an authority site which easily ranks for internet marketing related terms.

How many keywords should you target?

As many as possible!

You shouldn’t just target short keywords either.

There’s nothing wrong with targeting up to 10 long tail keywords that could potentially drive hundreds of visitors to your thread.

How to optimize your thread for on-page Seo?

The same way as if you would do on-page Seo when writing a blog post.

This means you shouldn’t stuff your thread with the keywords you want to target. If you create a 1000+ word post, you shouldn’t add any keyword more than 2-3 times to rank for it.

Where to find keywords?

If you only do one campaign I would just to order a gig on Fiverr.

Just check there and type “Keyword Research” in the search box and tons of gigs will come up that will give you all the keywords you need for 5 bucks.

So simply sprinkle your thread with the keywords you receive and that’s it.

The Secret Sauce: Building Backlinks To Your Thread

If you’re targeting keywords with low competition then this isn’t even needed to rank your thread. The problem is that this won’t bring in too many visitors because the traffic will certainly be low.

So in order to rank for keywords with higher competition and eventually drive tons of traffic, you’re going to need to build backlinks.

How will we do that?

Visit these sites and submit the link to your thread:

Real Backlinks
Free backlink builder
Social my site
Social submission engine

Submitting your site to these tools will give you enough link juice to rank your thread in the top results of Google.

Now you probably wonder and you might have heard before that blasting backlinks to your site won’t rank it and actually hurt it.

This is true for new sites which haven’t got any authority yet (which is why we only use white hat link building techniques for our own site), but for established sites as the Warriorforum this doesn’t really matter.

There’s no way the search engines will penalize a site like that, and it actually helps to get pages ranked when you build tons of backlinks to a certain page.

So that’s it, if you implement these steps there’s no way you won’t benefit from this method in the long run.

Just think about it, if you can create a thread that gets 100K+ views, how much income will that generate for you?

It’s very likely at least 1% will click the link to your site meaning you get 1000+ laser-targeted visitors who trust you and will be interested to know how you make money online.

One of the most important aspects of becoming successful online is branding yourself. This is one of the best ways you can achieve that without too much work involved.

You can basically set everything up in a couple of hours, and reap the rewards for years to come!

In this second part of the guide to drive traffic from the Warriorforum we’re going to take a closer look at paid traffic options on the Warriorforum, and how to use them when you have a website in the internet marketing niche.

In the first warriorforum traffic guide we have discussed free traffic methods which are definately enough to get started.

However, using paid traffic methods will definately make it easy to scale up and make more money, so make sure to add those too to your overall forum marketing strategy.

So if you’re ready, let’s get started!

Traffic From The The War Room

This method was a combination of free and paid traffic.

The reason for this is because members who joined before Freelancer took over the Warriorforum will have access without having to pay a yearly fee.

Update: If you’re new to the Warriorforum, it costs $97 / year to join either way, so for new members this method isn’t exactly free.

That being said I feel it’s definitely worth the subscription, and I don’t mean just to read all the free resources that are available there, but to drive traffic to your site(s).

If you’re not a member, the best way to describe it is an upgraded version of the best online resources section.

Here you can see how it looks like:

As you can see, there are tons of free offers available, and the threads got 100’s, even 1000’s of views.

In this part of the forum, whenever you post a thread it will be moderated before it goes live, so you need to make sure you provide something valuable.

Posting a thread giving away a free PLR ebook won’t get approved.

So yeah, it requires some experience to drive traffic using the war room, but as you can see from the traffic these threads get, it will definitely be worthwhile.

The rules are fairly simple:

  • The first post must contain something of value
  • Don’t use PLR products
  • Don’t force people to opt-in

So you can’t use this section to build your email list directly.

However, that doesn’t mean you can’t add a link to your squeeze page, affiliate offers or your own offers somewhere on the pages you send people too.

Let’s check some examples on how to make the most out of your War Room subscription.

Using the war room to build your list

There are a couple of things you can do in order to build your list using the war room.

You can simply add a download button, and a link to a bonus offer which redirects to your squeeze page (as the example you have seen in the best online resources section), or you can be a little more creative.

Here’s an example of somebody who is a little more creative:

The free download is on top of the page, so he offers value. In order to build his list he simply adds more value to his free offer and makes people opt in to his list in order to get the bonus.

No doubt this converts much better than simply adding a link to a different bonus offer!

And honestly, this isn’t hard to do.

Let’s take a closer look at my results from using this method.

A thread in the War Room seems to be solid gold!

It doesn’t have tons of views yet, but it will stay there forever basically, and since I posted a guide about an evergreen topic there (traffic), it will keep on bringing a steady amount of traffic to my site.

So far this thread alone brought more than 500 visitors to my blog, and a bunch of people have subscribed to my list.

Do you see the thread just above mine? Surely that guy got 10K+ visitors to his site from his thread, not too bad if you ask me.

Use the war room to sell your product

If you have your own product to sell, you can basically use the same method as if you want to build your list.

Here you can see an example of how that works:

The first step gives people their free report, the second step provides an update to that report and has a link to your sales page.

Rest assured, the conversions from people clicking through to the paid offer will be very high!

If you don’t have your own product, you can simply link to an affiliate offer.

Just make sure you find an offer that is related to your own free offer and adds value to it and you’ll do fine.

Keeping your war room thread alive

When people stop responding to your thread, it will eventually drop from the first page. When that happens the traffic will go down tremendously, and you can’t do much about it.

Unless ofcourse you use a clever little trick in order to keep your thread alive!

Instead of just adding 2 links, one to your free offer and one to your squeeze page / sales page / affiliate offer, you can add a third link as you can see here:

Nothing special you think? Just another link to an offer?

Not really, check this:

In order to get the bonus free offer, people need to post a comment in the war room thread.

This is obviously an amazing way to keep your thread alive. Every time somebody claims this bonus offer and posts in the thread, it will bump back to the top.

This way you can keep your thread on the first page for a very long time, getting as much exposure as possible and all the benefits that come with that.

It’s pretty ingenious, and if you have enough material to offer more than one free gift, this is an excellent trick to get as much out of posting a thread in the war room as possible.

Driving Traffic Using The Warriorforum Classified Ads Section

This is a section where you have to pay $20 to post a thread. That being said, you can use it to instantly drive traffic to build your email list.

Yes that’s right, you can link immediately to your squeeze page from the thread.

And on top of that, you don’t need to write an extensive sales copy too. Here you can see an example:

And the CLICK HERE button simply redirects to a page where you have to opt-in to get the free offer:
There’s nothing more to it than that really!

You don’t even have to use an image in your thread if you don’t want to. Just a strong headline and a call to action will do just fine.

So if you have some budget, this is one of the easiest ways to get started building an email list.

Update: Since the rules have changed, the classified ads section is the only place you can use to build your list using a free offer. It’s not allowed anymore in the Wso section (which I will get to later on). Also make sure NOT to use income claims in your thread or it won’t be approved.

Making Money Using The Warriorforum Classified Ads Section

Obviously you can use this section to sell your own products. There are many solo ad sellers who sell clicks and product creators selling their stuff.

But what if you don’t have a product to sell?

Can you still make money here?

You sure can!

What you can do is create a review thread and link to the product using your affiliate link to make affiliate sales.

Here you can see an example:

So what this person has done is create an extensive review, highlighting all the main features of the product, and below the review he’s adding his affiliate link.

Since you only have to pay $20 in order to post your thread, you don’t have to make tons of sales in order to profit.

But that’s not all, here are some extra tips if you want to use this method.

Bonus Galore

In order to increase your conversions, it’s best you add tons of bonuses to entice people to buy through your affiliate link.

This is a method that many email marketers are using too in order to make more sales, and this is absolutely needed if you want to succeed.

What should you give as bonuses?

Well if you don’t have your own products, basically the only thing you can do is to check for high quality PLR products related to the offer you are promoting.

You might need to make a small investment In order to get PLR, but then again, if it increases your conversions that’s basically needed.

I have only signed up for 1 PLR site ever and it’s called IDPlr, and it was a great experience.

There are thousands of products available, ranging from articles, ebooks, video courses, graphics to even software.

It’s a subscription site but you don’t have to stay a member though, just download everything you need to get started and simply cancel your subscription.

You can check out IDplr.com here.

So how do you go about offering these bonuses?

Well you need to make it very clear that people need to buy through your affiliate link in order to get them, here’s an example of what you should add to your thread:

This is a simple example of what you could do, however, there’s a better method.

Use Bonuses To Build A Buyers List

It’s not a secret that in order to make money online, you need to start building your list.

However, this method can be used to build a list that’s 10 times more profitable than a freebie seeker list: a buyers list!

In affiliate platforms such as Jvzoo or Warriorplus, there’s an option to automatically add your bonuses if somebody buys through your affiliate link.

Let me show you how to do this in Jvzoo.

After your product is approved to be promoted, go to the affiliates tab in the top menu and click “approved products”.

Then click the blue “ADD EXTRAS” button as you can see here:

After that you’ll arrive here:
Now instead of just adding the zip file which contains the bonuses you offered to the buyers, you’ll add a link to your squeeze page as the bonus Url.

This way the buyer will need to opt in to your list in order to collect his bonus, and you just added a buyer to your list.

When the product you want to promote is listed in Warriorplus, the process is about the same. First go to the affiliates tab and click “Get Links” and then the green “Get Link” button:

Then a box will pop up which is very similar to the one in Jvzoo. Here you can add the link to your squeeze page so buyers can collect their bonuses by opting in to your list:
So there you go, instead of just sending people their bonuses after purchase and that’s it, now you just learned how easy it is to build a buyers list.

And as you can see, you don’t even need to create a product yourself to achieve that.

Offer A Discount To Increase Conversions

On top of the regular bonuses you’re giving away, perhaps the most effective way to get as many sales as possible is to offer a discount.

It’s the same concepts as how all the cashback on rebate sites work.

How can you offer a discount you might wonder?

Well if somebody buys through your affiliate link you earn a commissions. You can use part of the commission you earned to offer the discount.

Here you can see an example:

As you can see this person offers a $50 discount on a product that normally costs $197 / year.

He actually earns 50% on the normal $197 fee, meaning even if he gives a $50 discount, he still makes about $45 profit.

When you think about the fact that posting a thread in the classified ads section only costs $20, he only needs 1 sale to make a profit each time he bumps the thread to the top (which costs $20 too).

Just make sure:

  • You give big discounts on relatively expensive products. People won’t be searching for a discount on a $10 ebook.
  • You only pay the discount to the buyer when you actually received the commission to avoid losing money when somebody asks a refund.

When you keep these things in mind, you can definitely make some good money using this method alone.

Launching A Cheap WSO

In the Wso section you actually have to sell something you have created yourself.

Launching a thread has the same price tag as in the classified ads section, so $20 to post the thread and $20 to bump the thread back to the top when It has dropped off the first page.

Before the rules changed, you were able to launch free Wso’s to build your list, but now that’s limited to the classified ads section.

Honestly, the traffic in the Wso section has gone down significantly the last months (update 2017: Make that years now). The new rules definitely have had a negative impact on this marketplace, but that doesn’t mean you can’t get traffic and make money from it.

In my humble opinion, the best thing you can do is sell a $1 product to build your buyers list.

The benefits are simple:

  • It’s easy to over deliver. Nobody will make a big deal out of it if they didn’t find the report informative. Obviously providing value is what you should aim for though, but the Wso section got plenty of trolls who always know something so charging just $1 will keep you safe from this hassle.
  • You’re building a buyers list. Yes that’s the main goal here. You’re building a list of subscribers who have shown they at least have a Paypal account and are willing to open their wallet. If you treat your list good by sending them quality content that helps them out, the money will come shortly after.
  • You don’t have to write perfect sales copy. Writing a convincing sales copy isn’t easy. Launching a $1 Wso is the perfect way to test things out and improve your skills, which will be beneficial in the future when you scale things up.

If you don’t know yet, let me tell you straight up: the money is always in the backend. Whether you sell a $1 report or a $9 report, it won’t make that much of a difference if you don’t know how to monetize the back-end.

So how would you like to add 100+ buyers to your list?

Or what about 500+ buyers?
When you’re building your list with a free offer, you’re lucky if you can make $1 per subscriber per month.

If you know how to build a relationship with your list and monetize it, it’s very possible to make $10+ per subscriber per month.

You see the potential here?

Warriorforum Banner Ads

When you have a bigger budget, you can also advertise on the Warriorforum using banner ads.

In all honestly, even though I use an ad blocker everywhere, I turn it off on the Warriorforum and so to probably the majority of people who visit the forum.

Why?

Because everybody on this forum is looking to make money and the banners usually contain great offers on ho to achieve that.

For more experienced marketers it’s a way to check out other people’s products and see how they set up their funnel etc. Just to get ideas so to speak.

Banner ads on the Warriorforum aren’t cheap, but they convert very well, so it’s definitely worth a try.

In order to get started, click the advertise with us link in the top menu and then you can upload your banner, add the url you want to link it to and click submit:

As you can see, it costs $100 to have your banner up for 24 hours.

To be honest, you have to be lucky there aren’t too many other advertisers that day, because you banner will go in rotation with up to 11 other banners.

So if all slots are filled you’ll have much less impressions and clicks than when only a couple of slots are filled.

As you can see, there’s also an option to advertise at the bottom of the forum. The price for 24 hours here is $50.

At first I was thinking, who scrolls down all the way down to the forum?

Well I was wrong, it seems many people do.

I’m sure you’re looking for some stats right? Well here they are.

Best result top banner warriorforum 139 clicks:

Worst result top banner warriorforum 78 clicks:
I have to note that the worst result was during the weekend and all 11 slots were filled.

However, since these clicks convert so well (5-10% for every campaign), I didn’t make a big loss actually and still got 4 sales on an $18 product.

So even on the worst days you won’t make a big loss (if you have a high converting product) because the conversion rate makes up for that.

Bottom banner warriorforum result for 1 day: 68 clicks

I was quite surprised to see the bottom banner got a good amount of clicks. I wasn’t really expecting this so next time I ordered for 3 days and here are the results of that campaign:
The conversion rate of the top banner and the bottom banner are about the same, somewhere in between 5-10%.

So as you can see, when you have a great offer, banner advertising on the Warriorforum can definitely bring good results.

Conclusion

I’m sure that you have all the ideas you need to start driving traffic from the Warriorforum.

But there’s more.

The purpose of this guide is to show you that you can drive traffic from any forum.

Niche forums drive some of the most targeted traffic you can ever find.

A little creativity goes a long way and I hope I gave you enough ideas to become succesful.

Traffic will follow shortly after.

Good luck!
