A few roll-off dumpster rental tips to help you avoid property damage

So, you need a roll-off dumpster to clean out your home or take care of a remodeling project. No problem. Bay Disposal & Recycling will be happy to work with you to figure out which size will work best for you and to set up a delivery/pickup schedule. Before you contact us, there are a few things you should consider so we can factor your answers into the delivery:

Where would you like it placed? Our roll-off containers range in size from 14 feet long to 22 feet long and are eight feet wide. Measure the spot where you’d like the dumpster to go and make sure it will fit. It should go on a flat, solid surface like a driveway, and not in your yard where it may sink into the ground or damage any irrigation equipment you may have installed. Also make sure that it will not block on hinder any doors, your path to the container, where you’ll park your car(s), etc. If you’re thinking of placing the dumpster in the street in front or your home, some communities have regulations against this. We can talk you through your options.

How much stuff will you be putting in it? To keep things safe while your loaded container is being hauled away from your property, make sure it’s not brimming to the top (or over) with the materials you are discarding. We can discuss with you what your project entails so we can recommend the container height that will best fit your project.

After your container has been picked up, you should sweep the area where it was located. Often times when things are being tossed into a dumpster, especially when going in over the top of the container, things can get broken and fly around. You don’t want nails, splintered wood, or shards of glass laying around, especially if the container was on your driveway. In fact, you may want to consider laying tarps down on the landing site before your dumpster is delivered, just as an extra precaution.
