Before becoming a Sinn Féin TD (MP) for Dublin Fingal constituency last year, Louise was a full time Trade Union Organiser and a lifelong trade union activist. She is a member of the ICTU Public Services Committee and has extensive experience negotiating on behalf of workers in both the public and private sector. She is passionate about workers’ rights and fighting and campaigning against inequality. Louise comes from a politically active working class family and has been involved in many campaigns over the years, both locally and nationally.
She is married and has a daughter. A regular in Parnell Park, the home of the Dublin GAA hurling, football, camogie, and ladies' football teams at all levels of competition. She believes strongly that the provision of more local sports facilities is vital for young people.
