DNC Criteria for Third Presidential Debate


The Democratic National Committee (DNC) is Increasing Polling and Fundraising Criteria for Candidates to Qualify for its Third Presidential Debate.

To Participate, Candidates must receive 2% or more Support in at least Four Polls. The Threshold for earlier Debates is 1% in Three Polls.

Candidates must also Certify that their Campaigns have received Donations from a Minimum of 130,000 Individual Donors and 400 Unique Donors per State in at least 20 States to Qualify for the Third Debate.

The Third Debate will be on ABC, ABC News Live Streaming Channel, ABCNews.com and Apps, Hulu Live, The Roku Channel, Facebook Watch, and will Partner with Univision with Spanish Translation, on Sept. 12th.

A Second Night could be added on Sept. 13th if enough Candidates Qualify.

The Debate’s Location, Format, and Moderators were not announced.

The Criteria will remain in place for a Fourth Debate in October.

An Analysis found that former Vice President Joe Biden (D), Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ), South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg (D-IN), Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA), Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN), former Rep. Beto O’Rourke (D-TX), Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), and Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), have Polled more than 2% in Four Early Polls.

Buttigieg, Harris, Sanders, and Warren have announced that they have reached more than 130,000 Donors.

An another Analysis found that 13 Candidates had met Both Polling and Fundraising Thresholds for the First Democratic Presidential Debate in June 26th.
