Wizkid: My music portray Africa to the world in positive light


Nigerian Afrobeats Artiste, Wizkid - has described his music as a universal language, and explained why he promotes Africa positively through his music despite the harsh living condition on the continent.

Speaking in an interview with Channel 4 News, United Kingdom the 26-year said “there’s so much beautiful things in Africa; Africa is so beautiful.”

He also spoke about how his music is changing global perception about Africa and how foreign artistes like Drake and Alicia Keys now infuse African sounds into their songs.

When asked about his contribution in changing the global perception of Nigeria and Africa in general, the ‘Ojuelegba’ said he makes sure his videos showcase African prints. This strategically ensures that his music and sound portray Africa to the world in positive light.

He added that music is what gives people joy because the economy is not amazing.

“The government could do better for the people. But the music is the only thing attracting people,” he said in a short clip posted on Twitter.
