Raising Funds for a Great Cause at the 31st Annual Winter Ball-Meet Me in St. Louis
ST. LOUIS, MO/January 4, 2017 (STL.News) St. Louis Mayor Lyda Krewson and St. Louis County Executive Steve Stenger will serve as the Honorary Chairpersons for the 31st Annual Winter Ball Karneval – Meet Me in St. Louis which helps foster business, education and cultural exchanges between the cities.
This is the 31st Annual Winter Ball Karneval and the 58th Anniversary for the St. Louis-Stuttgart Sister Cities, Inc. organization (SLSSC). As their major fundraiser for the organization, the annual Winter Ball event brings together guests, members, patrons and corporate sponsors for a fun-filled evening, in the spirit of the Mardi gras season, in true German fashion.
This year’s Winter Ball Committee has invited St. Louis’ fellow Sister-Cities organizations from around the world. Over the years, the SLSSC organization has been made up of German natives, business executives, former students, and Americans that have visited Germany before and for the love of German culture.
The funds raised through the Winter Ball Karneval go to help support the organization’s cultural, educational and business/trade events and programming for members and the general public alike. These activities include student exchanges, as well as scholarships and educational grants which enable high school and college students, educators and business interns to study abroad.
St. Louis-Stuttgart (Germany) Sister Cities is St. Louis’ oldest Sister City. Started in 1960, this not-for-profit organization is a civic, as well as, an international organization, keeping a high profile in the St. Louis community by participating in local ceremonies, conventions and festivals. They are united with St. Louis’ other sister city groups and international Sister City Groups through the office of the St. Louis World Trade Center.
The event will take place on Saturday, February 3, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. until midnight at the Four Seasons Hotel with St. Louis radio personality Katy Kruse serving as the Winter Ball Mistress of Ceremonies. The festivities for the evening begin with cocktails and will include a lavish three course dinner, live dance music by Paloma from Chicago, plus a raffle and silent auction and the St. Louis Sister Cities Fashion Show.
Immediately following the Winter Ball, there will be a ticketed After Party from midnight to 2:00 a.m. featuring German Delicacies, German Beer and Wine and Live Entertainment. This will also take place at the Four Seasons Hotel. Dress for the evening is black tie optional, and the guests from St. Louis’ Sister Cities are encouraged to wear their countries fashion.
This annual gathering is anticipated to draw close to 400 guests. In order to ensure the 31st Winter Ball will be a spectacular success, the SLSSC is seeking sponsorships at various levels from $500 up to $5,000. Current Winter Ball sponsors include Platinum Sponsor Missouri Humanities Council, and Gold Sponsor AAA Translation. The SLSSC is also seeking donations for the evening’s silent auction, and individual ads in the Winter Ball Karneval Program.
Tickets to the 31st Annual Winter Ball Karneval event start at $85 per person, and After Party tickets are $25 per person. To purchase tickets online go to www.stl4stuttgart.com.
