Where to Get Your Free Cookie on National Cookie Day

Celebrating National Cookie Day 2017 with Deals & Freebies

St. Louis, MO/November 28, 2017 (STL.News) – It’s that time of year, when all thoughts turn to something delicious—cookies!  Yes, National Cookie Day 2017 is upon us, and this December 4th some of St. Louis’ favorite cookie makers are offering some scrumptious deals and freebies to celebrate.  Here are just a few places around St. Louis where you can get free cookies in honor of National Cookie Day this year:

Insomnia Cookies has three locations in St. Louis: 226 N Euclid Ave. in the Central West End of St. Louis, 6301 Delmar Blvd. in The Loop, and 1136 Washington Ave. Downtown.

Penn Station East Coast Subs is celebrating National Cookie Day by giving away free cookie bites.  The chain of sub shops, founded in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1985, is known for their grilled and cold deli sandwiches, made to order on freshly baked bread, plus fresh-cut fries, hand-squeezed lemonade, and chocolate chunk cookies baked fresh daily in each restaurant.  On December 4th, they’re giving customers a complimentary chocolate chunk cookie bite (a smaller version of their lusciously chocolatey cookies) with any sandwich purchase.  Penn Station East Coast Subs has more than 300 locations in 15 states, including Missouri and Illinois.  There are more than 20 in the St. Louis metro area.

Great American Cookies, one of mall shoppers’ favorite stops for delicious cookies, will treat customers to one free original chocolate chip cookie at participating stores on National Cookie Day.  Great American Cookies has been offering their famous, soft, fresh baked chocolate chip cookies and their signature decorated cookie cakes to shoppers since 1977.  To get a free chocolate chip cookie on National Cookie Day, no purchase is necessary, but there is a limit of one free cookie per customer.  There are five Great American Cookies locations in the St. Louis area.  All are inside shopping malls: St. Clair Square, St. Louis Galleria, West County Center, Chesterfield Mall, and Mid Rivers Mall.

Whole Foods Market is getting in on the National Cookie Day buzz again this year by offering customers half-price cookies from their cookie bars.  Whole Foods Market cookie bars boast seasonal offerings and frosted treats unique to each store.  Customers can use the 50-percent discount to purchase just a few cookies, or fill a limited-edition cookie tin designed by artist Ryn Frank.  This sweet deal runs from Friday December 1st through Monday, December 4th at all three Whole Foods Market locations in the St. Louis area: 4577 West Pine Blvd. in the Central West End, 1601 South Brentwood Blvd. near the St. Louis Galleria, and 1160 Town and Country Crossing (Clayton and Woods Mill Roads) in Town and Country.

Why just celebrate with a cookie, when you can have a whole festival?  Along Cherokee Street’s Antique Row in South St. Louis, they’re celebrating National Cookie Day (and the holiday season in general) all weekend long on the first weekend in December.  The 34th annual Christmas Cookie Spree will be 10:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 2–3. The shops in the 1900–2400 blocks of Cherokee Street (between South Broadway and South Jefferson Ave.) will be open, and there will be live music, trolley rides, free hot cider and of course, cookies! Santa will also stop by—but then cookies are reported to be his favorite treat!
