  • Pakistan Rangers chief Gen Azgar Naveed Hayat Khan called BSF director KK Sharma twice last week, requesting him to end the firing.
  • The BSF has specifically targeted farms and residences of retired Pakistan army, ISI, and Rangers officers allotted land close to the Indian border.
  • These properties were used to provide logistical support for anti-India operations and to aid infiltration across the border.

  • BSF destroyed Pakistani outposts, killed seven troops
    Impact
  • Under 'Operation Arjun', the BSF caused heavy damage to Pakistan using small, medium and area weapons, the Times of India has reported.
  • The operation left seven Pakistani Rangers personnel and 11 civilians dead.
  • Multiple Pakistani army and Rangers border outposts and structures were also destroyed by long-range 81 mm weapons.
  • The Pakistani side had earlier repeatedly fired on Indian villages and BSF posts.
