Mumbai: Less buses, more trains on last day of Ganeshotsav 05 Sep 2017
Owing to congested Mumbai roads filled with Visarjan processions on the last day of Ganeshotsav, less than 50% BEST buses would operate today.
For the convenience of devotees, 12 extra local train services will run after midnight.
From 1:15am, Western Railway would run four additional late-night services on Churchgate-Virar line; Central Railway would run four each on the main and harbor lines.
Several roads in Mumbai and suburbs shut to traffic FACT
A BEST spokesperson stated: "Traffic will be diverted on to bus routes. Fewer people travel by buses on Anant Chaturthi, the last day of Ganapati. This is why only 1,687 of 3,407 buses will ply during the second half of the day."
