Best economical car of 2020: Prince Pearl vs United Bravo

Previously Pakistani consumers only had the option of buying Suzuki Mehran if they were interested in buying a budget-friendly vehicle. This has changed with the introduction of two feature-packed, economical vehicles, Bravo and Pearl developed by United and Prince motors respectively.

Suzuki Mehran which was discontinued by Pak Suzuki after a long stint of sales, this has partially contributed to the buzz around the launch of United Bravo and Prince Pearl.

Overview

The United Company entered the Pakistani automobile market with the launch of its United Bravo 800cc car. United Bravo will be a good replacement for Suzuki Mehran, it will also come with additional features that its competitor failed to offer.

Regal Automobiles and DFSK have introduced Prince Pearl, which is also a very economical car. This car was especially required at this time to fill the void created by the discontinuation of Suzuki Mehran.

Features

The United Auto Bravo boasts a 3-cylinder water-cooled Euro II engine with 30 litres fuel capacity, 4-speed manual transmission enabling 60 nm torque and 50 bhp.

It is also equipped with an electric power steering, inside fuel led opener, power windows, centre locking, rear-view camera, and interactive media panel with USB ports.

Other features include: Rear view camera, 2 Cup holders, Wooden panels, Fog lights, Air conditioning, Alloy Wheels, Seat-belt Warning Indicator and more.

Prince Pearl comes with a 796-cc, 40hp engine, 60.5 nm torque at 3500 rpm. It has a 27L fuel tank which is quite sufficient for long journeys.

Prince Pearl has a naturally aspirated 800 cc engine mated to a 4-speed manual transmission. As per the company’s claim, it’s a fuel-efficient hatchback that will offer up to 18 km per liter.

It comes with a number of features, including power windows, power steering, digital instrument cluster, premium wooden/silver trim interior, a 5.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, bluetooth and sd card connectivity, screen mirroring feature, air conditioning system, centre armrest, storage compartments and cup holders, driver and passenger airbags (optional), chrome inner door handles and more.

Price 

If we compare the build qualities of the two vehicles, build quality of Bravo falls short of expectations. On the other hand, the build quality of Pearl is relatively better than Bravo.

The exterior of both the cars looks somewhat the same. In this price bracket, if we compare them to Suzuki Mehran, their exterior is quite stylish.

Bravo is being sold at PKR 985,000 (ex-factory) while Prince Pearl has been launched with a price tag of PKR 10,49,000.
