No Fan Only Setting
Some fans have a "fan only setting" but unfortunately The Lasko Ceramic Tower Heater does not have this feature. As commented by a customer, "There is no "fan only" setting. It seems like most heaters I've purchased in the past have a fan only setting. I'm not sure why this one does not. Since you have the big unit sitting there in your room, it would be nice if it could be used to circulate air during the day when it's warmer, and then heat at night once the temps have dropped. Since we are using this heater in our RV, it's more noticeable to me since we need to have space for the both the heater and a fan. Oh well."
The Lasko Ceramic Tower Heater has both automatic setting and high/low setting. As explained by a customer, "This model has a high/low and auto setting. The high/low settings are not thermostat controlled. You simply choose hotter or less hot air. The auto setting allows you to set the thermostat to the temperature you desire. It seems reasonably accurate. That is, the temperature it displays is within 3-4 degrees of the other thermometers I have around the room. Once you set the thermostat, the heater cycles on/off, just like you would expect. This is a great way to keep the room at your target temperature. We use this mode every night."
Some of the customers greatly liked the digital readouts as opposed to mechanical controls. Here one happy customer explains: "I super love the digital readout. Its one of the reasons why I insisted on a window air conditioner that was digital also. With mechanical controls, you're just guessing. You're guessing at how much you need and where to set it. With a digital readout you can know the ambient temperature, and can precisely set the temp to where you want it. Not only that, but a digital readout can indicate irregularities about your own perception of heat or cold. For instance, there have been times I've felt hot when its 67 degrees in my room. Other times I've felt cold when it was 76 degrees in my room. My point is, you wouldn't want to adjust a mechanical thermostat according to your perception in this irregular cases. For, if you did, you might find yourself freezing by morning, or in the opposite case, waking up in a sweat. A digital readout give you accurate information about real room temperature. And I have found this to be quite helpful in deciding exactly where to set the thermostat."
Great Heater For Small Spaces
This heater will not heat up a large room but it will do a good job of heating up a small space. A customer explains, "I love this heater! It's the perfect size for small spaces. I have two, one in each bathroom. They are quick, rather quiet, and very funcional, I'd say. One of them has lasted about 7 years. The other one, I bought recently, about 6 months ago, and has also worked very well. You can set the thermostat to a specific temperature. When they reach the desired temperature, they shut off. They also oscillate. I no longer dread coming out of the shower because these do a phenomenal job. Highly recommend them. They are inexpensive, durable, practical, and quiet."
