Nagpur. Ajni Police caught the suspect trying to steal a Vehicle by chasing him in movie style and revealed 11 cases registered in different police stations. The name of the accused was said to be Mohammad Atiq Mohammad Khalid (38), a resident of Ansar Nagar. During the interrogation, he told his other accomplice, Rajik Shah Rahman Shah (35), a resident of Karanjalad, Washim district, that he had bought the stolen vehicle. He too was arrested. Assets worth Rs 7.70 lakhs including 10 two-wheelers were seized.
There was preparation for robbery at the medical premises
According to the information received, the Ajni Police team was on patrol. Meanwhile, Atiq was seen in the parking lot of the medical complex. He was trying to surreptitiously put the keys in a two-wheeler. Calling him for questioning, he broke into a run. He was immediately followed and arrested at the door of the Medical College. He was captured and taken to the police station and interrogated. He said that he was trying to steal said two-wheeler. As suspicions increased, under strict interrogation, he confessed to 10 two-wheeler thefts. In these, 3 robberies were committed in Ajni Police Station area, 1-1 in Sakkardara, Jaripatka and Lakadganj, 2-2 in Panchpavali and Kalamna Police Station area. There they also stole an unknown vehicle.
7 vehicles found with a couple
Asked about the whereabouts of the vehicles after the theft, Ateeq said that he has kept 3 vehicles at Ajni’s own facility while he has sold the remaining 7 vehicles to his partner Shah in Karanjalad. Police recovered 3 vehicles from Ajni and 7 from Shah in Karanjalad on their track. Its total cost was said to be Rs 7.70 lakhs. Shah was also arrested. Under the leadership of DCP Chandak, ACP Sagar, ACP Biradar, PI Fantagare, PI Humane, API Agarkar, Kalambe, Thakur, Parvez Khan, Changole, Kevti, Tarekar etc. did this action.
