Action247 Same-Game Parlay for April 29, 2023

So, what exactly happened last night? What the heck did we witness?

Yesterday, we built our championship-winning multi-game parlay around three playoff series that looked likely to conclude last night. Only that didn’t happen at all.

The Florida Panthers forced an unanticipated game seven by defeating the mighty Boston Bruins in a wild 7-5 affair. The Colorado Avalanche’s tumultuous season lives on after a 4-1 win over the Seattle Kraken. More importantly, the Seattle Kraken re-affirmed their status as our arch-nemesis with another disappointing performance when we believed they were real.

The Golden State Warriors will have to win another road game to advance after losing to the Sacramento Kings 118-99, coming nowhere close to hitting the over.

With yesterday’s horrible losses, our parlay record is 0-6, and we’re a pathetic 6-12 on individual picks. On the upside, we’ve got game sevens to enjoy!

Here is our same-game parlay for Saturday, hoping to regain some pride and a parlay win before starting a new week.

Edmonton Oilers over Los Angeles Kings (-175)

Everyone, welcome the Edmonton McDavids back to the parlay blog!

While Connor McDavid has eight points in five games, it’s been the Edmonton Draisaitls with a side of McDavid so far in this series.

Leon Draisaitl has been incredible, and Connor McDavid is getting going after the Los Angeles Kings did a good job shutting down the best player in hockey.

As for the statistics, records-wise, they’re fairly even.

The Oilers hold a 5-4 head-to-head series lead over the Kings this season. The home team is 5-4 on the season and 3-2 in the series.

The Kings had a 26-11-4 home record in the regular season, while the Oilers had a 27-11-3 road record. The Kings have a 2-2 home record against the Oilers this season.

However, Edmonton is averaging 4.0 goals per game in the playoffs, and their powerplay is converting at 57.1%. The Oilers are 5-2 in the last seven meetings and 7-3 in the previous ten meetings in Los Angeles.

We’re taking Edmonton to win and move to the second round.

Edmonton Oilers -1.5 over Los Angeles Kings (+125)

Two of the three Oilers’ first-round wins and four of their five head-to-head wins against the Kings have been by at least a 1.5 goal spread.

We’re taking Edmonton to defeat the Los Angeles Kings, and the trends suggest the Oilers will cover the spread doing so.

Edmonton Oilers vs Los Angeles Kings Over 6.5 (-141)

As you know, the McDavids were the Kings of the Over this season, posting a 51-28-8 over/under record, while the Kings went 44-40-23 over/under.

The Oilers and Kings have combined for a 4-5 over/under record this season. The previous two and three of the five playoff matchups have hit the over.

We’re taking Edmonton to win 5-3 and hit the over.
