He was a far descendant of the legendary wizard Ellminster Aumar, chosen champion of Mystra, the goddess of magic.
From his very birth, Artharius was destined for greatness.
In his early years, he helped rescue a dangerous and powerful mage from the depths of Undermountain, as a token of gratitude the mage offered Artharius a stone of eternal life.
However, the stone was cursed and Artharius was unable to find any rest, eventually longing for death.
While he first helped many people with his knowledge and skills, Artharius became tired of helping others, especially those who only seek power.
He devised a series of intricate challenges to test the worthiness of those seeking his knowledge and aid.
Only the most skilled and dedicated adventurers were able to pass Artharius's grand trial, earning his trust and respect.
And though the archmage remained bound by his curse, he held out hope that one day,
a worthy successor would arise, capable of lifting his eternal burden and freeing him from his immortal curse.

The Pocket Universe of the Mad Mage is a grand Adventure for four to six characters between levels 5 and 10.
It can be used as a stand-alone adventure or even as a setting to play additional side quests and adventures.
The adventure consists of several storylines and NPC backgrounds to provide many opportunities for role-playing.
It is not a sequential adventure, as, the choices of the players greatly affect the direction, order, and outcome of each task.
The adventure is written for the Forgotten Realmstm setting but can also be used with any other setting.
