Just like Facebook’s instant articles, Google has a similar feature for the web called Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP). For those who are unfamiliar with the feature, basically these are websites that have been designed to load instantly when you click on it, as opposed to more traditional websites where content is loaded only after you’ve clicked it.
Now for iOS users, the good news is that if you use the Google App for iOS, the company has announced that they will be bringing AMP to its Ios App. What this means is essentially the same instant loading feature for the web will now be available within the iOS app itself, as you can see in the screenshot above.
According to Google, “Starting today, AMP will be available in the Google app for iOS. So now news articles from a vast array of publishers will load instantly for your reading pleasure. Just look out for the lightning bolt and “AMP” next to articles in the “Top Stories” section of your search results and enjoy blazing-fast news.”
