Prime Now Might Merge With Next Month

Amazon has been offering a same-day delivery service for quite some time now. The Prime Now service is part of a broader push by the company to further speed up deliveries, the plan includes ambitious projects that require using drones to deliver packages in 30 minutes or less. While that might be a long way off, it appears that the company is ready to treat Prime Now as a fundamental part of its business.

Bloomberg reports that the company is going to merge Prime Now same-day delivery with next month. This will make the service accessible to a lot more users as currently it can only be used through a dedicated app.

Amazon even keeps the order history and customer service for Prime Now separate from the core, so being given that pivotal position in the entire Amazon ecosystem is undoubtedly going to be a big boost for Prime Now.

With Prime Now, Amazon Prime members get free two-hour delivery in supported markets and they can even opt for one-hour delivery on select items as long as they’re willing to pay $7.99. Prime Now started off in December 2014 and was initially available in a handful of U.S. cities, now it’s available in major cities like London, Milan, and Tokyo.
