Pokemon Go developer Niantic and publisher WB Games announced Harry Potter: Wizards Unite in November last year. The title will be similar to Pokemon Go in that it will also rely on augmented reality. A new teaser of this augmented reality-based game has been released online today. It shows us a glimpse of what the game might look like.
We don’t get to see any actual gameplay in this teaser but it provides hints of what players will be doing. The live-action trailer has a witch tracking down a rogue Golden Snitch, the little golden ball that’s actively sought in a game of Quidditch.
We also get to see a poster warning other witches and wizards that things from the magical world are crossing over into the Muggle world in what’s known as a Calamity. The Calamity will likely be the main mission for players who will visit the real-world locations to “cast spells, and encounter fantastic beasts and iconic characters along the way.”
